Brian Whittaker's Tache
Just got back from Munich and the Bayern game What a difference from watching football here. Great seats in the Allianz Stadium for just under a tenner a pop. Programme's a quid and it's a proper magazine too. As for the food if you like Pig and Potatoes you'll not go far wrong The German's do build up like no one else. Mental "Ride of the Valkries" (sp?) type music 5 minutes before kick off. Action replays on vast screens for every goal. The MC type bloke chats with the crowd and they talk back. All in all great atmosphere with a 69,000 crowd (no segregation either) Game was brilliant with Ribery, Schweinsteiger and Ze Roberto all having great games (Luca Toni you can keep) Just a pity they chucked away a two goal lead in the last 5 minutes. Cheers to everyone for the advice. Got some great pics that I've posted up here. All in a fecking great day out. Unfortunately it makes Scottish football all seem a bit Sunday league!!! CalgaryHibs
As yoo saw the tickets prices are the cheapest in European fitball, that why there staduims are pack each week in the first and second divisions. With there huge tv contracts which they sell world wide the club make most of there dosh from this. Then yoo look at the UK what 27 quid for Scottish games and average what 50 quid in england ? Agree its worth the trip over there for fitba, booze and women !
felix
Went to the old Olympic stadium over 20 years ago and the atmosphere and build-up was brilliant way back then - remember watching the game whilst drinking some of the finest beer I'd ever tasted . Ive been to 2 Oggershiem games, Vs Panderbom & bayern 2 (reserves) at the Sudwest & thats a 30k (6k seated) stadium & its awesome. you get a meal deal at the ground, beer & food for 4 euros. the team is gash, the staduim is in a bad state, Like hearts they have a hardcore support & the players PLAY for the team as they all support them. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=7jqzPNp2mO8 http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=k2Zc41togwU
Mr Romanov Saviour of HMFC
I liked your pics mate. That stadium looks absolutely brilliant. It defies logic that you can pay nearly 30 quid to watch a mid table SPL game but to watch one of the top teams in Europe you pay pennies.
Cambo_Jambo
It's the same accross Europe. My friend lived in Lyon for a year and sat with the Ultras. You aren't allowed to sit down, they sing for 105 minutes (including half time) and there is a guy who doesn't watch the match but stands on a box at the front with a bullhorn directing the singing. Sounds alot better than sitting in a stand freezing your balls off being told to sit down and then booing Miko.

Bayern are on a really poor run at the moment. I think the last league game they won was at Cologne a few weeks back, when a certain Kevin McKenna was up against Toni. But I'm glad you got to see a goal-fest. A look at the (not untypical) Bundesliga 1 & 2 scores from the weekend shows just why the crowds are so big and the entertainment value so high. http://www.livescore.com/default.dll?page=germany Koblenz 5-0 Kaiserslautern? WTF?

Totally agree. Went there at Christmas last year. Seats were comfy as well. Brilliant stadium and transport links were brilliant. The fact you can get to Marianplatz within 20 mins of FT was unreal.Only downside was some ugly German Munter firing intae her boyfriend for the whole game. One other downside. If ye want any food or drinks ye have to part with at least 20 Euros for an 'Allianz Card'. Ye then get to spend the Euros via the card. Great if ye go every week but p!sh if yer only there for one game:mad:

Have a beer and a laugh with the local fans and one will give you their card. Sorted. Worked for us. They even came over to watch the mighty Jam Tarts in return. Cost 31 euro for a match ticket though:eek: Surely cant be cheaper to watch Bayern.
