bigsuperslim1874
I did something like this in 2006 - it was a fantastic experience (I even scored which was unexpected and exhilarating). I’ve just signed up….backs a bit dodgy and fitness is a disgrace but hey….its a fun time and money goes to charity. 🥳

Not so 'super sub' for the home team, 16:00 KO. I didn't have the temerity to put myself up as a starter. Now, just have to unearth my boots. Should I get a run out then I'll be fortunate to last 2 minutes and will likely be blowing out of my arse by the time I get from the side-lines to wherever I'm told to go. Mind you, I might play like I did in my pre-Hampden Semi-Final dream when I toe-poked a late winner after a brilliantly executed straight from the training ground set-piece. Even now I can hear the shouts echoing down from the supporters giving me pelters. Ps ... go on, John ... go on ... sign up and do your bit for charity ... or at least get yer lad in goals. Amazing offer mate, they had a ref last year who did a great job on his own to be fair but having assistants would be even better. You can only ask I suppose! Was slightly loose but by no means tent-like. It’s just a standard strip fit I’d say (if that makes sense)

You can only ask I suppose! Hampden and Tynecastle were the two I aimed for when I started out 20 plus years ago. Never made Hampden. Sure there's a couple of amateur refs amongst us who perhaps have the same target but got a couple of boys through here in Stirling that would go for it no bother

That’s really cool of you. 👍 I did this in 2006 where my coach was Big Dave McPherson and the opposition coach was Scott Crabbe! Crabbe was injured but McPherson played a bit….pretty cool thing to say I’ve played alongside him! There were refs running the line and also a man in the middle and it properly enhanced the experience. 👍 Edited May 13 by bigsuperslim1874

Ralph Gordon was an assistant referee until he retired last year he’s a season ticket holder and he managed to run the line in cup final against Celtic 2-1 I worked beside him not sure he’s on kickback but really nice guy stays in Livvy I’m sure he would offer his services

Everything from being in the home dressing room, warming up on the park, and emerging from the tunnel for KO to playing and witnessing the match from the dug-out was splendid As already posted on another thread:- You missed today's top match. It even had a tense and exciting penalty shoot-out with both 'keepers pulling off top saves. WAY better than the Scottish 🏆 Final. ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️ - ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️ The home team came back against all the odds from 2 - 6 down and ultimately prevailed. Some super players on both teams in a game played with spirit and with no histrionics or bad temper. A sunny day at Tynie.

maroonsgotop Posted Sunday at 12:06 Share Posted Sunday at 12:06 his father was in front of me and said his son had not long recovered from an ACL injury and sadly this looked like it may be similar. Fingers crossed it's less serious. I was also surprised there were no medical people in attendance and after a long time on the ground, he had great difficulty when he was eventually helped off. He was in a lot of pain and presumably an Ambulance had to be called.

St John’s Ambulance were meant to be there but left after the first game for some reason, he looked in agony and when the ambulance was called I actually thought they should have abandoned the game, especially after taking the players off the park. That being said (and as long as the guy is ok) it was a cracking night for a superb charity.
