Hopefully St Mirren do them on Saturday to make it worse.

I had a look at the league tables for other leagues from around the UK and Europe and you would be surprised at how different the SPFL table looks at this point in time. In other leagues the teams at the top of the table drop more points than the Old Firm (obviously as there are more decent sides in these leagues) and the teams below the big 4 or 5 teams in each league all the way to the bottom of the table seem to pick up more wins (probably off each other). Most other leagues have many more teams as well. Five games from now the form may well look very different from it does now, but I would say as the OP said it is unusual just now for the lack of wins below 4th spot. Conversely it shows that the less you win then the lower your placing? "Staggering" if true.

Captain Sausage
What that form table shows is how competitive our league is (beneath Hearts at least!) So many draws in there, with losses predominantly against the top 3. We saw it last night with two draws in games I think all 4 sides will have seen as critical to win. Our key to this season has been the ability to grind out 1 goal wins against the clubs below us, reflected in our GD of +9, despite winning 6 more games than we've lost. Heartsfth
What it shows is that, other than the Old Firm, not enough goals are scored, mainly due to defensive football

Doc Rob
What always strikes me about the SPL table is the goal differences. Currently Hearts and Killie are the only non-OF sides with a positive GD, and Killie’s is +1. It’s not uncommon for every side below 3rd place to be negative. Which is insane in a league of 12 teams. DalryJambo
So what does that tell us about possible league construction? If there were more teams, and therefore more 'smaller' clubs, could we see more wins across a weekend of fixtures as there would be more games between the teams from position 6 to 18, say? Would this make the league more appealing? Does more win mean more excitement?
