On SATF podcast Robbie talked about the difficulty of playing on Sunday after a Euro away trip. The example he gave was if we played away in Greece with a 8pm KO on Thursday then away to Ross County on Sunday they'd have very limited prep time for less actual training. But also it's what big clubs have to deal with. What I'm thinking is our away matches after Euro games will be very hard. If we are in touching distance of 3rd come the WC break I'll be happy. Of course some people will lose their (insert word of choice)after our first draw of the season. Coming 3rd again will be unbelievablely hard but if we do it we really do start to lay the foundations for catching up on the two in the West. I for one am very excited. UEFA and FIFA seem to be conspiring to ruin the integrity of club football by cramming in more & more fixtures (e.g. playoffs) throughout the year, which means the top players are at increased risk of injury and burn-out. Greedy bar stewards.
