Guys won about 30 of the biggest trophies in the game and would’ve won that final for Spurs as well, idiotic timing for a sacking

This. Maybe could've done a bit better at spurs, but I think he was harshly treated at United. He got that squad to second and challenging for a decent length of the season. Which is no better or worse than where they are now, yet ole is doing a "fantastic job".

Italian football was perfect for him before and could be again.

Levy will be furious unless he can reduce his sacking compensation now.

This is the best bit about the ‘Special one’ getting the Roma job!

Not a chance Levy will be furious, he sacked him to save money and obviously paid him and his team completely up front or Mourinho wouldn't have taken another job.

It seems that no matter what level of the game there seems to be a limited "pool" of managers that just move around from club to club.

Obviously the likes of Mourinho is in the top group but further down the likes of Allardyce, Holloway etc always seem to get the next vacant post, no matter how shite they were in their previous role

He's won everywhere he's went except spurs but they win **** all anyway.

He did well at Inter so no doubt he has unspent capital in Serie A from that time. Not sure he will turn Roma's fortunes though.

Been sacked now 4 times in England, Spain a no go after Real Madrid so Italy was probably his last big job as still has the serie a and champions league win on his cv from Inter.

He can go where he likes. So many trophies such knowledge of the game, and a motivational man. He is a great fit for Roma, I watched the game on Thursday and it would have been different but for the injuries they are a clever team and the type of team he has done well with

Roma are one of my teams so I hope the special one can be special again. 🤞

Be interesting to see how he gets on. Bit of work needed at the club. They're 7th which at present, would only qualify for this new Conference League. Even 7th isn't a given with Sassuolo breathing down their necks. Although with Atalanta and Juve playing in the Coppa final, 7th will earn a Europa spot and 8th gets the Conference League. Realistically, Roma can't finish higher than 7th, or lower than 8th.

Be interesting to see where this leaves the club for next season. Inter and AC will be strong as ever, I expect change at Juve in some way or another, Lazio might have CL money to spend and Atalanta have got cash reserves after 3 years of CL football. Can't forget Napoli either.

Either way, I think a top 4 finish would be a cracking achievement for his first season.

Pretty intrigued by this one tbh, Roma kind of seem like a sleeping giant in a lot of ways - Obviously a massive club but have totally failed that many trophies. Times where Juve have been weak has saw both Milan clubs pretty strong.

Certainly throws a cat amongst the pigeons!!
