Dia Liom
Looking at the squad, does anyone think we need a big target man as back up, or an alternative to Boyce? I don't think it's essential if things go well but we could be pretty light up there in the quite likely event that Naisy and Boyce are out at the same time. A Zeefuik type to bully the shan championship defenders.

jambopilms
We really should try and cut our losses with Naismith. I can't see him actually being fit enough for more than a few games at a time and there is no chance he would be any use the year after in the premiership. The type of player and contract that we won't be wasting resources on from now.

Dia Liom
12 minutes ago, Barack said: What's Uche up to? Boyce is a far better target man than Uche. Not that I'm claiming to be a footballing expert but the perception of Uche as a target man was probably his downfall. Anyway, thinking about it, we clearly don't have enough power up front, so I'll answer my own question: yes, we will sign a striker than can play target man. No way we can rely on just him and Boyce for the season though, we need two more good quality strikers. Maybe just one if Wighton can recreate the scoring record he had on loan at Arbroath, but he needs to show it soon.

jamboinglasgow
So thats Jordan Roberts, the scorer of first Hearts goal (in any kind of game) of 2020/21 season. Joining Steven McLean (2019/20), Aidan Keena (2018/19), Cole Stockton (2017/18,) Prince Buaben (2016/17), Callum Patterson (2015/16) and Sam Nicholson (2014/15)
