Love christmas day but the build up can jog on.

Supermarket cheesy adverts as well.

Home alone though, some consolation.

Samuel Camazzola

The John Lewis advert will be broadcast soon (although it'll be a predictable 'stay at home' affair filmed on a phone/tablet device with a slowed-down, piano-led cover version of a 90s hit).

Music channels will be playing Mariah, Slade and Wizard within the next week.

I love Christmas. The build up starting in The shops in September and then punters putting their Xmas trees up at the start of November is a bit much though.

Love Christmas day but hate the build up.

The Christmas markets can gtf.

I’m the opposite. Working in retail, the amount of business means there’s always extra hours (and money) to be had, and the days just fly in, but more than that, I quite sadistically enjoy watching people flapping on the 23rd of December knowing fine well that my good lady has done all the shopping before Halloween

Having her parents up on Christmas Day without being allowed to tell them to **** off and the kids wanting every single toy opened at once however..

You could always wear your green paper party hat over your nose and mouth though.

Being a mask lover, and all that.  👍

Because it was summer and we were in more lockdown restrictions

as we go in  to winter, people are more likely to be indoors

In that case, you'd better ask santa for one of these then.

Thommo saved me typing my reply to tian.

Love the build up to Christmas but this year will be so different as the panto and other kids show we normally go to are cancelled. The Smyths catalogue is out in September and the kids make a list of what they would like.

Under 4 months to go.

Indeed.

I'll be really really gutted and have no fond memories of coronavirus at all if Christmas isn't cancelled this year and I have to suffer the in-laws again.

When we lost our daughter, and our son had to work the holidays, and then grandchildren found romance, we were left just the two of us, just spent a normal evening together, and Christmas day always had a special holiday dinner. None of any of that this Christmas, probably just a night of remembering how things were, and taking great pleasure in that, realising how fortunate I have been. I will give thanks for what I have had, which so many have never had.

Start a thread on here on Christmas day Bob, loads of us will log on at some point and we can share our memories of Christmas's past and our hopes for the future.

Christmas markets in Edinburgh cancelled, another huge loss for the Edinburgh economy aswell as the cancellation of the New Year celebrations.

Christmas isn't the same since the kids grew up and have all flown the nest.

Typically Mrs JJ works Christmas day now, she often swaps shifts with younger nurses who have young children, so that they can spend Christmas with their kids.

This year Miss JJ is due to come home (covid permitting) so Mrs JJ will be doing a half-day shift so that we can have a family meal together, albeit with only our youngest, but you know what I mean, of course all that could change depending upon where we are with Covid as at the Hospital it might be all hands on deck as was the case in March to May.
