I sent a message on Facebook to Riccarton Garden centre on behalf of  my Mum - they phoned her the next day and delivered all her bedding plants the day after. Brilliant service.

Homebase at Blackhall have been open for weeks. Their plants are shite though.

Five Sisters Zoo in West Lothian have a decent plant sale and deliver too.

So B&Q, Homebase and Wickes have all been open for weeks selling their shite plants, but proper garden centres can't open until after Thursday and only if the science tells Sturgeon it's ok.

Makes a lot of sense :whistling:

Yet even taking into account that we are a tenth of the size of England population wise, our infection levels and deaths are a lot lower than 10% of theirs.

I think the DIY spin on this was more a priority for people’s mental health with varying projects when staying at home than any other reason.  However, you could argue that gardening should also help people in lockdown.

B and Q is an essential store for home repairs, which happens to have a garden centre. Just like Tesco is essential for food and other goods, but happens to have a clothing section. Clothing stores are shut. Now gie yersel peace.
