Rudi carried us since 2005

Other than the Championship season Rudi Skacel effectively carried the team for any season we had a semblance of success in the SPL/Cup since 2005. Nobody else.

Discuss.

I think it’s fair to say he was a talisman for Hearts. We’ll not see his likes again any time soon.
Similar to seeing John Robertson for years, we were privileged to see him play for Hearts.

With Rudi -

05/06 - 2nd with cup win

10/11 - 3rd

11/12 - 5th with cup win

Without Rudi -

06/07 - 4th

07/08 - 8th

08/09 - 3rd

09/10 - 6th

12/13 - 10th

13/14 - 12th

14/15 - 1st in Championship

15/16 - 3rd

16/17 - 5th

17/18 - 6th

18/19 - 6th

So we've been third twice without him, one of the times with no Rangers in the league. We've had four league cup semi finals without him and one final. We've also had one Scottish Cup final without him

I mostly agree

At the start of the seasons that JJ and Sergio managed us neither were keen on him/started him.

When they started to play him our form improved dramatically

We wouldn’t have won the cup in 2012 without Rudi.

But won nothing (I don’t count lower league titles).

We wouldn’t have won it in 2006 without him either.

Most of those without Rudi years were also without Romanov years and therefore players on 10k per week. Probably the biggest difference.

It’s actually grim reading(our league performance) since the time we knew admin was coming and cut backs kicked in. (12/13)

Rudi wasn’t just a player with bottle, we all know he had a talent which kept him edged ahead in quality terms of the opposition.

It’s not often we see the full package in maroon. Fearless of the OF, a winner and talent rolled into one.

What a very Hibs comment to make.

Not really our playing budget was higher under Romanov or am I wrong?

We had a "semblance" of success in the Cup last year, without him. We've had a semblance of success in the Cup this year, without him. We've been to four successive semi-finals for the second time in our history, without him. We had our longest-ever run without conceding a goal (I think?) without him. We put Raith Rovers out the Cup, despite him.

Our playing budget now is higher than most teams in the league yet we are winning nothing - go figure.

We didn't have 5 years of Craig heading up recruitment back then. We did sign some real quality back in those days.

Lord Beni of Gorgie

Bruno Aguiar carried is in Csabas first season, finished 3rd. OP would have done better to say how other seasons would have been enhanced by a Skacel
