Due to my snobbiness about bands cheapening their memory by reforming I turned down tickets for The Velvet Underground and The Sex Pistols when they reformed for one off tours.

I regret both.

My mate at the time was there. I was only 12 and invariably short of resources. I feel like I missed out, big time. 😟

Tell you what though... seen some brilliant acts in Prince’s Street Gardens. Fantastic venue, and I hope we don’t let the NIMBY’s take it away from us. :(

Not really my scene again but that would have been them in their pomp

Had a ticket for T in the Park when Bowie was due to headline in 2004.  He cancelled and never toured again despite returning with a couple of albums before he passed in 2016.

I was absolutely gutted at that one.

Suso Santana

The original Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Oh, and Guns n Roses (with Izzy Stradlin) before they were all sober.

Nae chance of them releasing a decent new album now.

...a bit disco

A lot of mine already mentioned.

I'll throw in INXS at their Listen Like Thieves/Kick peak.

Guns n Roses.

Not today's incarnation with a fat Axl Rose but the real G'n'R from the late 80's.

There's a few folk saying they regret not having seen The Who, who are in Glasgow in less than three weeks time.

Get your fingers out lads! I'm going to be there.

OK - it's probably not "The Who" that you regret not seeing with Moon and Entwistle but it's still The Who.

What was really annoying they were touring The Pulse CD and CD one was the songs from the tour and  CD two was the live version of Dark Side of the Moon, so depending on which you went you either got the tour or Dark Side. My mate was fortunate enough to see Dark Side live.

Best live group I ever saw, sorry.

Alex Harvey worked the stage like nobody else I had seen up and seen still to be honest, well maybe apart from Springsteen but a close call.

As for the Band they were a perfect foil for Alex and so, so good.

I've been listening to a lot of White Stripes tunes and watching interviews since the new year.  The Canada tour was good watch.  The concert was excellent looking.  Some quality stuff.  Some not so great.

So that's a band I've been thinking recently I wished I had seen/been there.

Did Duran Duran not Supposedly put on a good show, or was it Adam and the Ants.

Can't speak for Duran Duran as I've never liked their stuff.

However, Adam Ant is still putting on a good live show.  Saw him at the Usher Hall last year and seeing 4 people drumming simultaneously at times is quite stunning.

A number of bands being mentioned here that people can still catch live.  I had a ticket for Bowie headlining T in the Park and started getting into his music in preparation.  He cancelled with health issues and never toured again.

Probably the Beatles but I was too young at the time and I doubt they would have sounded that good given the amps used at the time.

if only they had reformed in the 70s...  🤷🏼‍♂️

John Lennon always said that if the Beatles had got together again it would have been to do studio work, not tour. McCartney and Harrison would probably have been more up for live work.

You’re definitely right about the amps/PAs they used. I’ve played pub car parks with probably more wattage than they had at Shea Stadium 😂😂

Don’t think they even used monitors either. Would have helped them hear themselves over the screaming.

It was a gift that they stopped playing live really, it let them start writing songs without the limitation of worrying whether they could play them live as a four piece.

I agree with that. Also in hindsight it was probably good that they split when they did. Their last recorded Album Abbey Road  (I know Let it Be was released afterwards) was possibly the best they ever did. I listen to that the most these days.

The Who drummer, Zak Starkey (Ringo's son) will be worth the admission money alone.

If you ever get the chance, watch Tommy from the Royal Albert Hall, where his performance is absolutely wonderful. Recorded it on Sky Q so should be available.

I was there! Up in the gods near the front so a good view of the action.

I'm afraid that their UK tour might fall victim to the hysteria around the virus.
