Stuart Lyon Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 The former Phoenix Bar is rising from the ashes as a bar/restaurant and will revert it its former name the Broughton Bar so I was told by the butcher in Crombie's across the road this morning. Quote
Zico Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 Same folk that bought (and have done a good job with) The West Room, apparently. Quote
Seymour M Hersh Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 Glad it will no longer be an IRA supporters hang out. Quote

Was a dive but a good set of locals! Folk make assumptions from one song, one customer, one story etc. Broughton St losing Mathers and The Phoenix to "bars" is a shame. The streets appeal has always been its mix of proper boozers and trendy stuff imo. Quote
