XB52
According to a poster of another football site, Kilmarnock are looking to bring this in. Would like the whole of section G made safe standing as it wouldn't spoil the view for anyone in other sections. Can't understand the idea that the steepness of the stand rules this out as people are standing in there already and everyone stands at some points during the game. Having a rail in front of every fan makes it a lot safer than the current seats Edited February 13, 2019 by XB52 more info.

Toggie88
It looks as if they're only in for a demonstration. One row has two seats, the other has three. Also, they look like they're wider than normal seats (that section is currently four wide). Might lose a little capacity by putting them in. Of course, all of this is just from looking at two pictures. I could be wrong, but regardless would love standing back at Tynie.

Jambothump
Won't affect me seating in Section C, but would really like this to go through, for sections N and G, if they want it, many do and shouldn't be punished for wanting to stand. Especially as there is never any action taken against those who stand right through the game in the away stands when full. Has any official action ever been taken against clubs, where their supporters or opposition stood, during significant portions of a game? They look like they would be incredibly uncomfortable to actually have to sit on, and look like flat backs with relatively flat seats, that will meet at a solid 90 degree angle. Designed for standing first, and seating last. The ones in the pictures from Tynecastle at least look moulded enough to be a bit comfier. It's only to conform with UEFA regulations, if a hooped demon of my acquaintance is to be believed. No one ever sits on them and he said when they were first introduced and playing a Euro tie at Parkhead, the seats would be unlocked. All they did, rascals that they are, was to jam a bit of card etc into the side of the seat to keep it in the upright position. This could all be bollocks but he was quite adamant ! Steve_Jersey_HMFC
Would be great to see at Tynecastle. Always found it disappointing that when the new stand was being rebuilt there was no scope for discussion from the club at introducing some sort of safe standing, it’s seemed to be unilaterally ruled out by AB in one of her statements. im at that stage now where I’m quite happy sitting personally but would like to see safe standing elsewhere particularly G or N, and safe standing helps enable atmosphere without compromising safety or the views of others who can know to avoid a standing section if they prefer to sit

Looking at them again it does seem that they've been purposely designed for our steeper gradient stands. More like a bar stool, as you say for a better line of sight when required to be sat on. Dayman
This means we can replace all the pink faded seats with the seats leaving section G, and we have some spares for when the rodents break some in the roseburn. We can still charge them to be “replaced” and we get safe standing!

alanthejambo
IMO you cannot have safe standing in any 1 section in Tynecastle as there are always people whose view would be affected. It would have to be a whole stand, hence this type of seat to give people a choice. Same would apply to most grounds in Scotland

It's not legally restricted to 1:1 ratio, but where clubs struggle to increase capacity through safe standing is both on the depth of each row and also the width of exits. Our stands will have all been designed to allow for the safe coming and going of the seated capacity. Increasing capacity may mean that we'd also need to widen the vomitories and potentially increase things like toilet numbers too.

EG lower section N would be fine if we closed just the top row of that section. That said, I thought it was that our stand is too steep for the 'safe standing'. But perhaps these new style seats are allowed on slightly steeper stands...
