Tommy Brown
What a great site this morning looking south. A crescent moon with Venus to it's left and Jupiter to it's right. took some mobile photos, but don't do it justice. Should get good online photos somewhere. Radio Ga Ga
Just had a look and it is fantastic. For us non astronomers, how did you find out the two planet?

Governor Tarkin
Even with a street light in the way I could see three of Europa, Io, Ganymede, and Callisto, and some texture in the atmosphere of Jupiter through my shitty wee telescope from the front garden. Venus was far too bright to see any detail. It's great when the air is this cold and still.

I wondered what that big bright light was when nebbing out the back windae brushing my teeth earlier.

It's the same as photographing an eclipse.

Tommy Brown
Nice wee one this morning for nerds like me. The unmanned space craft visible beside the moon. Think it will be there for a few days yet, maybe wrong.

If you were watching closely last night at about 9 you could actually see it orbit behind the moan and come out the other side a few hours later. Probably the first thing that was spotted by NASA onboard camera's was the glow from my street with all the outside Xmas lights
