Niemi in goals

I have a dilemma between kello and niemi - niemi under criteria can be included but is there a case for a player to be THAT good that they surpass cult hero status

I always liked Miko.

Sent off 4 times in 3 games against Rangers.

Cup winner 06

Scored a brilliant winner against hibs. Dean shiels sent off for smashing Craig Gordon after scoring a penalty. Miko smashes into the top corner to make it 3-2.

Samuel Camazzola, we've not had many Brazilians as they tend to favour the flare teams. 8 games for us.

Ibrahim Tall, the boy could shield a ball out for a goal kick from the half way line. 39 games for us.

I liked him too. Treated disgracefully (and badly by some Hearts fans) by the Weegie Press, and a victim of a xenophobic rant from Richard Gordon.

was the last Scotland game I went to (not that I was ever a  regular, took advantage of a free ticket) the hypocritical outcry from the tartan army and media when O'Connor dived to earn free kick moments later was laughable

That moment I feel actually got supporters back onside with Miko as before hand he was a pawn in the issues fans had with Vlad interfering with team selection

Hopefully people have enjoyed reading my first two blogs on https://mondaynightfitba175605465.wordpress.com/2019/01/17/12/

my next piece in light of honouring Jambo Soldier Diakamona will be to look at my hearts cult hero XI

only two bits of criteria to pass to be included

1.you cant have a winners medal whilst at club

2. can only have under 100 appearances for the club

who would your cult heroes be and why?

Does a Championship winners medal count or are you just talking about major trophy medals.

As Zeefuik and Sow have winners medals from the Championship but are both definitely cult heroes.

Suso, although I’m not sure he qualifies since he’s a cup winning legend.

He is Suso, so exempt from that rule.

too many appearances - loved him as a player - scored some very important goals for us

Just checked, and you are right.  Over 100.  Still likes him though, but yes, does not qualify.

One for our older readers.

Tommy White, a big bustling centre forward who had a  cracking partnership with Willie Wallace.

Just checked with London Hearts and he scored 31 goals in 37 league games over 2 seasons.

For the oldies amongst us how about the late Rene' Moller.-"The Danish blonde bombshell"

Announced his arrival with two goals at the famous 6-5 win at Tannadice in the Scottish Cup

Scored a decent number of goals, and was always exciting to watch one way or the other!.

Of course, ‘cult hero’ doesn’t necessarily mean ‘good/great player’. Or indeed ‘favourite player’.

I’ve not read the thread through but would select these few as Hearts cult heroes:

Bruno

Robbo

Eric Carruthers

Willie Johnston

Yogi Baird

Wee Jose

MDV

Fashanu?

Henry Smith

Mr Busby

Pinilla

Super Wayne (for that goal)

Bobby Prentice

Rudi

Cruickie

All of them good, some of them brilliant.

In recent times probably Zeefuik or Dikamona. Milinkovic might be a shout too.

Zeefuik coming in and making that sort of impact and then disappearing is gutting. Had he stayed who knows! Still think we should sign him as a 'project'. If you're struggling for a goal in the last 10 mins he'd be a great option.

Dikamona's commitment since he's came in has been first class. Him forcing his way into the derby despite not being fit was brilliant to see. Players with that sort of commitment are few and far between.  Hope to see him at the club for a long time. He's an example to any player coming in on what we as fans want.

Older than that, Phil Stamp? The pizza story :D also his goal v hibs :o
