queensferryjambo
Not my words the words of Hibs 'legend' Ian Murray. My opinion on his thoughts are Hibs scuffed their way unconvincingly into the top flight with no competition. They then punched above their weight to come 4th (obviously keeping them as self proclaimed second best team in Scotland). The media have for the last 4 seasons hyped Hibs up as something they clearly are not. Is he basically saying there is only so far screaming at your players and match officials through manky yellow teeth will take you? https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45216901

Bauld
They had quality. Their strength was in their midfield. In McGeouch they had someone who was tenacious, hard working and excellent on the ball in tight spaces. Allan provided creativity and vision. McGinn was a driving force, good on the ball and smart, able to win free kicks using his arse or holding onto possession. With all 3 gone they have lost what made them strong. David McCaig
Given it was obvious they would lose both McGinn and McGeoch, Hibs seem to have been completely negligent in their succession planning. Given the special relationship they have had with Celtic in recent years, allowing them to loan players on an industrial scale, it seems foolhardy in the extreme to have effectively burnt their bridges with Peter Lawwell. It's remarkable that people on here were claiming Hibs were years ahead of us and yet we have cruised past them in just one transfer window. ...a bit disco
Lennon's been living off the team that Stubbs built on the whole. The future, even with the highest budget a Hibs manager has ever had, isn't particularly bright for them.

I think there's plenty of times where they lacked a bit of steel and a bit of balanced composure, not against us all that much but you'd never trust them on your coupon in run of the mill games

karipidis
Hibs can’t replace McGinn and McGeouch within the wage budget they have, and unlikely Celtic will want to deal with them after the McGinn transfer so there midfield is going to be much poorer. Factor in a defence with less protection and getting found out and strikers with less service, it could be a long season for Hibs. Not quite natural order yet but it appears to be heading that way. A win at Easter Road will cement that.

No I 100% agree I don't rate him either but hibs found a way to get the best out of him by having 2 hard working players beside him and allowing him to focus mostly on getting the ball into advanced positions where he could play others in. Spellczech
Hibs have scored a lot of goals this season so far. Hibs have also conceded a lot of goals this season so far...Last night it was a lot more conceded than scored. They probably lack balance, but as long as they are scoring goals nobody criticises Lennon. Last night they didn't score. They are regressing but IMO they are doing better without McGeoch, McGinn and Allan than I thought they would...FTH

queensferryjambo
I remember Ian Murray being interviewed on SKY Sports (must have been 2006 / 2007 ish) before the season started and was asked to give his predictions on who would be top 6 and bottom six in the SPL. He actually said teams like Hibs who normally get top 6 would be in the top 6 and teams like Hearts who are usually bottom 6 would be bottom 6. The presenter then told him that Hearts had never been in the bottom 6 since the split was introduced.

fabienleclerq
He's talking shite as usual. Championship they won as they should've, last year they had a good season and in Allan, McGeoch and Mcginn had a cracking midfield. That was a quality midfield for anyone outside the Tim's. This year they've signed Mallan who is another quality player at this level, Hibs are weaker but imo not dramaticly. They have a good forward line, good Midfield and a bang average defence. They will be battling us for third/fourth.
