Marvin
Usually during industrial action the trains still run but a limited service. Best check national rail enquiries.

John Findlay
Anyone know if this will have any effect on trains to engerlund? No it won't affect cross border trains.
John Findlay
It will be a special strike timetable. Trains through Bathgate will be a normal Sunday timetable. These trains are already driver only trains. From 9am-9pm it will be an hourly service between Edinburgh and Glasgow both ways via Linlithgow, Polmont and Falkirk High. Hourly both ways Stirling/Dunblane. Fife Circle will be erratic check on the Scotrail website before travelling. Do not do National Rail Enquiries. They will not be as upto date as Scotrail's website. There will be an hourly service on the Borderline but last train will be around 18.00. No trains on the Shotts line, that's Livvy South, West Calder. No trains to North Berwick or Dunbar. No Scotrail trains to Aberdeen but there will be trains to Dundee. Please Check the Scotrail site before travelling for any journey on strike days.

John Findlay
Will there be extra carriages John...with the Festival being on? Or will it be the usual two carriage job!? I've stopped laughing now. It will be the usual 2 on most Fife trains. Some may be strengthened.

Helzibob
It depends what route you travel. I'm on the Glasgow to Edinburgh via Bathgate and that runs as normal during the stikes. Most of my colleagues in Fife just make sure they get on the virgin trains which were running fine. There's not many routes where there's no trains running at all. It's mostly just a reduced service. Shanks said no
I believe so... How else do I get there? Taxi to Bathgate and train it or find out about buses. Having previously stayed in West Lothian for 20 years its one of the joys when there's a train strike, holiday, or the classic "how do I get to a NYD derby". (Will be staying through there on sat night The Glasgow Central to Edinburgh is one of the few routes that are completely cancelled. Get yourself to Armadale or Bathgate and get the Glasgow Queen St train. They're running as normal, no changes.
The Treasurer
Yeah you get refunds, quite a protracted affair though. Getting a refund from Scotrail is a fecking joke Once you've gone through the long drawn out process they might (if the feel you deserve it) get a refund but rather than refunding the money you spent they give you fecking vouchers to use on their pish poor services in the future. As for this strike, it only serves to piss off the travelling public, nothing else

It takes about 5 minutes to complete the online form and you get your voucher through the post normally within 2 weeks. If you don't want to use the vouchers you can exchange them for cash at the station. I use the delay repay online all the time and haven't had any issues at all.
