jambonian
It will depend on how the new players settle and if Neilson changes formations to suit what he's got. Or if he carries on with slow, pointless build-up for no reason other than he's scared to lose goals. We may get the chance of finishing 4th/5th if he does change his tactics but right now i'd go... As for the fans regardless of how we've been playing/ what's been going on you generally see the majority get behind the team. The only thing is the crowd can be quite quick to turn if we lose the ball or making a lot of mistakes. Debut 4
We'll probably recover to have a respectable season. But at the moment that's all Neilson is capable of unless he takes on a different perspective of how to manage his team. We have good players but will they push the limits? Central Belt 1874
If it took a Maltese pub team one game to suss us out, and we were terrible in the second half of last season, then it's reasonable to assume as long as other teams do their homework on us this season then they might not need to invest in new players to catch us. Francis Albert
Celtic Rangers Aberdeen St Johnstone Dundee Motherwell Hearts Ross County Kilmarnock Hamilton ICT Partick I don't think that'll be far out. Maybe a place or two higher but I am not confident, based on signings and early season form. Strange how the confident prediction pre-Warburton that Rangers would struggle on their return to the top tier has now been well and truly buried, even before their first game. No of course it isn't success but it's where I think we are at the moment. We're one paced and predictable. I don't think other clubs will go on a consistent run but they're all entirely capable of beating us. In fact we could be seen as a bit of a soft touch next year, especially away. Francis Albert
It's over 38 though. I don't see Dundee or St Johnstone passing us and the rest were awful. So if we get sixth that is success then? Dundee beat Dumbarton in the League Cup 6-2 at the weekend. Dumbarton are a class or two above Birkirkara. St Johnstone ripped us to shreds at Tynecastle last season. We won't get a 5 game winning head start this season. Small clues but that's all we have at this stage, along with memories of our first two competitive games at Tynecastle. 6th won't be a success but it is a reasonable prediction. It might be better. It might be worse.
