Valentinho
Result was frustrating but, over the piece, the tramps unfortunately merited the draw. Let's not be delusional about that. I honestly feel must of the over the top criticism is due to our surrendering a two goal lead. Had it Ben 1-0, 1-1, 2-1, 2-2 the ridiculous posts which have polluted this board would have been far fewer and less intense. Being honest, we were fortunate to be 2-0 up at the time, having not played as we can, and when they scored first, I for one, knew what was coming. Yes, RN's tactics left a lot to be desired, but with walking wounded (Princs, Alim, Arnaud and Sam N, two debutants and the missing Rossi, I felt we lacked any cohesion from the start. There was little on the bench late on which could have changed things. We need to be in their faces at Fester and hot on the break with pace. It will be a harder game, but I believe we will right some wrongs there.

GlasgoJambo
These hyperbolic reactions to results against Hibs reek of parochial short-sightedness. If this time next year we're in a worse position than we are now, both on and off the field, then maybe it's time to start the inquisitions - not just because we had a draw with the warrior poets. I have my doubts about how many of the people positing on the board in the last 24 hours are genuinely Hearts fans... You'd think we'd had decades of success and a squad full of world beaters, when you read the levels of criticism being directed at the players and management when we don't win a match. I agree our performance yesterday wasn't what we would have hoped for, but some serious perspective is required.
capital city
I get the disappointment we are all feeling after yesterdays woeful second half display. RN is a young manager who makes mistakes. He's still learning his trade and we have to be patient with him. I felt there were a few things that had an impact on the second half collapse. 1. Rossi sending off at Hamilton. A ludicrous challenge that he didn't have to be made. Had he not we would have won at Hamilton and he would not have been suspended. This created the possibility we might have to play Oshiniwa. 2. Ozturk injury. We were forced to move McGhee to centre back. I thought he did pretty well until the goal. Oshiniwa came on and our left side looked a car crash. 3. Stubbs brought on the tall Norwegian and he had an immediate impact. He played well up the park and in the face of Osh. First thing he did was get in the box on the end of another super cross from Henderson. Nicholson should have dropped back to cover him but if he was injured it shouldn't surprise us he wasn't effective in the latter part of the game. We've all played FIFA and seen our injured players grind to a halt. That happens in real life too. 4. Hibs got a bit of luck. The goal was fortunate to say the least. But we would all take them so no complaint about that. Had that header ended up miles over the bar then would the collapse happen? Probably not. It gave HIbs the belief and desire to get the equalizer. If he got a proper connection I doubt he would have scored. I don't think losing Prince made much difference just as Thomson for McGeouch didn't for them. But the tall Norwegian lad did. And we didn't handle his presence on our left. That allowed room for Henderson to start dictating play for them. Oshiniwa was not up to looking after our left side at all. I suspect that was the thinking behind bringing Walker on. To help Nicholson cancel the threat of the big lad and Henderson. Djoum was obviously struggling. (Tho' Souttar might have been a better option. Gomes going out on loan seems really dumb now. He would have sorted that out.) Hibs created nothing down the right where Patterson did his job well. It's easy to take out disappointment in calling for the managers head but he went into that game with problems created by the players and lady luck. It is just too easy to say we were negative. Perhaps there was a reason to play deeper. Today's injury list suggest many of our players were struggling. Perhaps sitting back was the best option to try and see the game out.Maybe the players couldn't give any more. What i didn't get and from which i believe offers hope for the replay was that it wasn't HIbs who looked like scoring a winner it was us.(Yes I know that makes a mockery of my last point but the goal changed the game again and there were only a few mins left) If the Norwegian boy had just a little less of a connection we would be in the third round. Or Kevin Thomson wasn't guarding his post. On small margins games are lost and won. It was HIbs turn yesterday. Yes they came back but they didn't win. And lets not forget they were pretty poor too for most of the game.

Even 1 win in 5 is nothing to shout about.. We have the better players and he contrives to **** it up time and again.. Do we genuinely think that Nielson instructed the players to sit back for 45 minutes and just aimlessly hump the ball up the park, or could it be that Hibs performance, combined with our injuries and the players not listening to instructions resulted in the poor 2nd half showing? The line up and set up was largely the same as in the Aberdeen and Motherwell games and I didn't hear anyone complaining that they were negative. There are a number of reasons that sometimes make it difficult to execute your pre-game plans. Being forced to reshuffle your line up after 10 minutes and then again after 50 mins and 60 minutes clearly hampered us. Djoum is the key man for us. When he plays Hearts play, as was shown when he started to get on the ball after 15 minutes. He basically dropped out the game after 50 minutes and we lost that drive from midfield, with nobody picking up the mantle. Djoum and Bauben also link up well, and that partnership was gone within 10 minutes. We aren't a team that can carry that level of disruption and other players underperforming. So, for me, it isn't about Nielson being negative, particularly as I saw him encouraging the players to move up the park a number of times in the 2nd half, its a combination of factors. The negative critcism is just laxy criticism when we have a bad result.
