What are people's memories/thoughts on Donald Park?

I seem to remember he only really got a game when Kenny Aird was out.

Aird was one of my favourites but I loved wee Donald too.

He elbowed me in the mouth when he played for Dryburghs against BT Telesales. Liked him for Hearts, hard working direct, maybe lacking a bit composure.

Effing Ormond swapping him for Denis McQuade & John Craig.

Partick seen the best years of all three.

Edit bloody tablet always changes it to patrick.

Only saw him in his second spell, I thought he was pretty gash. (seems he was pretty good first time round by all accounts)

Denis Mcquade.

Oh how we laughed.

All 2 thousand of us as he hit the corner flag with a diving header from the edge of the box.

When Hearts played Wellington he led the singing of Flower of Scotland at the after-match function - stone cold sober.  Brilliant and my wife was in tears.

Or as he skelped two 30 yarders in away to Dons and Hibs.

That apart he was mince.

Did he not run the West End Hotel for a while, which was known for its folk music?

Mince was being kind to him one of the worst ever to pull on the famous maroon jersey.

Did McQuade not score a cracker at Pittodrie in one of his first, if not the first, Hearts games?

He did.

And another in a then rare win at Easter Road.

He did mate but the game I'm thinking of was against Utd and according to London Hearts ( never wrong) it was the game on Saturday 13th October 1984 , we'd just been beaten by them in the League cup and had an injury crisis for the Saturday game. 7000 or so of us had the pleasure of watching a patched up Hearts team win 2-0 with a certain Mr Robertson getting the other goal :)
