Heartsfc_1874
I think personally 4-5-1 diamond would work best. Alexander(signing potentially today) Paterson New CB(In talks) Wilson Mchattie Keatings Gomis Nicholson El Hassanaoui. Holt Carrick
Unknown user
A fluid 4-3-3 is the plan isn't it? Adaptable depending on circumstances so it can become a defensive or attacking formation. This will be getting implemented throughout the whole club from the youngest age levels up so kids are able to move up age groups more easily. jambmoz
Surely we will play various formations situation dependant. The days of a rigid 4-4-2 etc are long gone. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
vegas-voss
4231 ......................Goalkeeper Paterson NewCB Wison McHattie Gomis. Holt Nicholson. Carrick. Keatings New Striker Or Carrick or Keatings as striker and the new guy from the Dutch club in one of their roles.Plenty options in attack from the bench for that formation as well. the sub goalie
-------------------Alexander Paterson CB Wilson McHattie Gomis Holt Smith Sofi Walker Keatings Agree, although I would have Nicholson in there replacing either Smith or Walker. Going to be a big season for Sam, I really think he could be our biggest player next season.
bringonthesevco
For most home games I'd like to see us really go for it - 4-1-3-2 type formation and only use the 2 holding midfielders for Sevco at home and some of the harder away games , we have the pace and skill to really take it to teams this season . Fluidity is key !!!!!
bighusref
The best formation just now is 4-2-3-1 That just tickled me. On the topic, formations are academic. I want us to pass the ball and try to score goals.

Bauld
With any hope we will have a flexible formation that shifts smoothly from defence to attack depending. There is no room in footbal for rigid formations anymore.
letsalldothebeattie
Looking at what we have its hard to see what exact formation. We cant rely on Carrick up front on his own he could do with help from Keatings. Where Souf fit in if we go with 2 up. I would go for: Keeper Paterson-McKay-Wilson-McHattie Robinson-Gomis-Holt Nicholson Keatings-Carrick Probably not the exact side but i like the thought of Nicholson having a free role behind Keatings and Carrick could create and score us plenty goals from that position
BigAlim
We could do 4-2-3-1 against Hibs, 4-4-1-1 against Rangers, 4-4-2 against smaller teams, 4-3-3 against Alloa, 4-5-1 against Premiership teams in the cup and 4-6-0 if we play Celtic, It's up to Robbie really

jambogjh
With players such as Patterson in the team that flat back 4 can easily change to a back 3 with Patterson pushing into right mid, the squad RN and CL are building will be flexible and change back and forth as games pan out. Watt-Zeefuik
I loved the 4-1-4-1 we played a bit last year, particularly against Celtic (not the 7-0 game), but partly because McGowan played so much better in the withdrawn defensive mid spot than he did anywhere else. Not a fan of lone striker setups, never have been. I suppose Gashauskis9 has a point, and a Christmas Tree formation gets us our best players on the field, but even if it means pushing Nicholson and Walker higher up the pitch, I'd prefer a 4-3-3.
