Carl Weathers Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 I've been meaning to scan this for a while. Hopefully it'll bring back some memories. Some greats mistakes to spot as well!
Dr. Bapswent Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Pure class. Levein actually looks older in his picture than he does now! Nice upside down advertisments too.
Carl Weathers Posted January 21, 2008 Author Posted January 21, 2008 Pure class. Levein actually looks older in his picture than he does now! Nice upside down advertisments too. Levein appears to have more hair on his chest than a yak does on its entire body!
Mr Romanov Saviour of HMFC Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 I absolutely loved that Asics strip. Top class!
Carl Weathers Posted January 21, 2008 Author Posted January 21, 2008 I absolutely loved that Asics strip. Top class! My mum scorched the away top with an iron and I still wore it!
DB-14 Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 I absolutely loved that Asics strip. Top class! The sticker book claims our sponsor was ESICS. Believe that is one of the errors.
Paws (FTH) Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Brilliant. Cheers for posting that, brings back memories. How many players are a foil badge worth again???
Carl Weathers Posted January 21, 2008 Author Posted January 21, 2008 The sticker book claims our sponsor was ESICS. Believe that is one of the errors. Yeah but there is one more obvious.
DB-14 Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Yeah but there is one more obvious. Telephone number is incorrect? It starts 031.
Carl Weathers Posted January 21, 2008 Author Posted January 21, 2008 Telephone number is incorrect? It starts 031. Check who's in midfield.
JamboJen Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Pure class. Levein actually looks older in his picture than he does now! That's exactly what I just said! He looks terrible! Shaggy looks like he's just left school!
Mr Romanov Saviour of HMFC Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 This is the daddy of all Hearts away tops. Probably my favourite ever top! The memories!!
DB-14 Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Check who's in midfield. Robbo. He has some scoring rate from midfield.
Carl Weathers Posted January 21, 2008 Author Posted January 21, 2008 This is the daddy of all Hearts away tops. Probably my favourite ever top! The memories!! As seen on Rikki Lake. Great top really.
JamboJen Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Check who's in midfield. Just saw that too, only cos I noticed whoever was beside him said "Left Back", and I though, that's a very random way to put the team together!
scott_jambo Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Thanks for posting that. Brilliant. Some legends there and some players id rather forget. Oh and allan Johnston. Not sure where he fits in.
Carl Weathers Posted January 21, 2008 Author Posted January 21, 2008 That's exactly what I just said! He looks terrible! Shaggy looks like he's just left school! George Wright's hair is the best!
JamboJen Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 This is the daddy of all Hearts away tops. Probably my favourite ever top! The memories!! My first ever strip! Probably the last time my mum ever got me a strip for my birthday though, since there's not much of the season left when you have a March birthday! Still got it. Great strip
I'M IBRAHIM TALL Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 The cheeky *******s claim our shirt colour is "crimson". I've shot men for less!!!!
JamboJen Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Yeah but there is one more obvious. There's a comma in the wrong place in the "Rising Star" section! Haha.
Mr Romanov Saviour of HMFC Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Feck a new manager. Feck new players. Bring back the old badge that's what I say.
Carl Weathers Posted January 21, 2008 Author Posted January 21, 2008 Feck a new manager. Feck new players. Bring back the old badge that's what I say. It looks majestic as a shiney. Still not sure what the bit in the middle is though.
Lt.Speirs Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 This is the daddy of all Hearts away tops. Probably my favourite ever top! The memories!! that was a cracking top i had alans top on hols as i was going out with his sister
The Merse Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Tommy Mclean has a pus you would never tire of hitting. On a sidenote I've just realised that one of my mates from uni is the spitting image of Neil Berry, can't wait to wind him up about that one!!
Saul Goodman Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 My first Hearts top http://www.footballshirts.dk/product.asp?product=10745&sub=1181&page=1 Loved it
Buffalo Bill Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Note the yellow painted steps in the Wheatfield Stand, 94/95 season. I think they were that colour to match Tommy Mclean's teeth. Buffalo Bill .
Carl Weathers Posted January 22, 2008 Author Posted January 22, 2008 In the squad photo - back row, far right. Wasn't that lad meant to be the next big thing? Where did he end up?
Toggie88 Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 ahhh nostalgia - how I wish we could go back, simplier times. I would get the away top every year for my birthday. Favourites were the candy strip and the light blue, white and maroon stripe one. Absolute class.
The Doctor Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Have you heard of The Heart of Midlothian? Have you seen them in crimson? Erm.. no!
Tane Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Telephone number is incorrect? It starts 031. Nah, it used to be 031 but it was changed to 0131. The other obvious mistake is "SteVen Frail" instead of "StePHen".
markletissier Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 had this book completed as a wee boy, always admired mcphersons hair, volume the likes ye have never seen.
whatthehellisgoingon? Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Another mistake is that we won the cup in the 1958/60 season
Shaggy2 Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Another mistake is that we won the cup in the 1958/60 season I spotted that one too. Only two I can see that haven't been mentioned are the spelling of Tosh McKinlay's name (McKinley) in the action shot and Dave McPherson's photo is definitely not from 1995. You can forgive them for that I suppose as he'd only just returned in Oct (I think) 94.
christhejambo Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Gary Makay has aged about as well as a pear
K1874M Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Brilliant... What an ugly bunch looking back. Neil Berry has a squint HEAD! whats that all about. Qaulity stuff tho, wish I kept all that stuff when I was younger.
Carl Weathers Posted January 22, 2008 Author Posted January 22, 2008 Brilliant... What an ugly bunch looking back. Neil Berry has a squint HEAD! whats that all about. Qaulity stuff tho, wish I kept all that stuff when I was younger. Players looked older them imo. Even older the further back you go!
100years..haha Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Tommy Mclean has a pus you would never tire of hitting. On a sidenote I've just realised that one of my mates from uni is the spitting image of Neil Berry, can't wait to wind him up about that one!! My most hated Hearts manager, and thats saying something considering the p!ss we've had of late.
marshallschunkychicken Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 It looks majestic as a shiney. Still not sure what the bit in the middle is though. Is it not supposed to be an old-style football?
cuthy2k Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Brings back the playground memories! "Got...got...got...got...got...got...got...got...got...got...got...got...got...got...got...got...got...got...got...got...got...got...got...got...got...got...got...got...got...got...got...got...got...got...got...got...NEED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" And i believe that a 'shiny' was worth two normal players!
gadgey55 Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Spot on. Anyone seen this years album? Wee bits of stickers here and there! 35 wing a pack now! Robbin bassas! I'm buying them for wee Stu. And sticking them in for him. And putting the doublers into numerical order for him. Honest, they are for him!
japanjambo Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 I didn't know Tom Forsyth was on our coaching staff back then Lynn
Craig_ Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 That's a pretty decent team, yet seem to remember that being one of our worst seasons in a long time! Didn't realise the new Wheatfield had been there that long either!
