The Comedian
From The Scotsman... http://sport.scotsman.com/sport/Hearts-shareholders-express-anger-at.3998175.jp George Hawkins was first to ask a question of Romanov as he demanded to know when a new manager would be put in place. Performing a u-turn on comments made in January where Romanov revealed that Stephen Frail would be assistant to a new manager next season Romanov instead asked supporters to back Frail in the long term. He said: "The reality is that to find a manager is very difficult, most managers are already out of work or ready to jump from the clubs they are working with and seeking profit. "If you find me a manager who won't do that then fine but give a chance to our guy Stephen Frail who is already at the club. "I know that votes are split but let's be fair to him." That comment was greeted with shouts of "no" from the crowd and an increasingly farcical meeting was added to when Romanov launched into a tirade over the way the game in this country is run. Is that RR dropping a hint who the next manager will be? God help us if it is. Does anyone else get the impression the cheapest option will win regarding the managers position? He seemed to recant this later on, but it was bit of a farce TBH and it's difficult to draw any sensible conclusions.

Gibbo
When RR replied to George Hawkins he seemed to be saying that Frail would be the next manager but later he talked about having a more 'mature' manager. My suspicion is that VR doesn't keep his son fully informed about what's going on at the company that he chairs.
Ivan Drago
the January 1st statement was just the club announcing that Angel was leaving, and that Frail would be taking over as 'manager'. I dont see how anyone can see it as anything else
Flogel98
Does anyone know what Frails win/draw loss ratio is and if we applied these metrics to the current season, where would we have ended up? Based on the assumption that we took more points than anyone outside the old firm since Jan 01, would we not have finished 3rd if you do the same over a season? That would indicate that Frail actually done a decent job.

I go to be entertained as Kevin Keegan would say.
Ivan Drago
I think its fairly clear that the plan was to make the statement on the 1st to appease fans. With Frail being appointed and Vlad having his say. With regard to the comments about a more experienced man. The exact same comments were made about Valdas. They were looking for a more experienced man. Got to say more convinced than ever Frail will be made manager. What is becomming clear is no manager will have control of team affairs at Tynie. Therefore we will never get managers but just people who are prepared to do as they are told. Can just see McGee reading the comments from Rodney and thinking, that Tynie is the place for him! Its all a bit sad. the way i read RRs comments is "we dont want a manager that isnt out of work just now, and we wont take one from another club because they'll just do it again if someone approaches them at Hearts" which of course leaves only people currently at the club on the 'shortlist' (LOLZ)

Frail is not the answer...why do people want to look at stats and try and convince us ? Frail is a yes man and for that reason he is no good! rossi_1983
Roman is defending Frail because the hierarchy want him to stay at Hearts in a lesser capacity. He then mentioned they wanted to bring in someone with more experience etc, who will be Head Coach The whole interference thing involves Vlad and his contacts still wanting to have a major hand in player purchases. Any new manager will have to agree to let Vlad be largely in charge of purchases, as he thinks he should as its his money. This is a sticking point with some prospective candidates, but an agreement can hopefully be reached with the number 1 candidate. Vlad has brought in some crap, but he has also brought in some quality, so as long the new manager actually decides who plays, this shouldn't be a major problem
