We all know by now the Neil Lennon on-his-arse photo

But someone did a painting of of it, didn't they ?

I remember a photo of it on here

Anyone track it down?

is it in the classics section, the great moments in MS paint thread perhaps...?

Nope - it's a proper oil or water colour painting - someone put up a photo of it resting against a radiator in their house ... as I remember ...

I would guess that his seat is occupied by the artist's self portrait

The Lennon figure is a representation of Michaelangelo's Adam from the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.

Is the artist trying to liken Lennon to "everyman" with the troubles of the world in the shape of the wrath of the Hearts fans bearing down upon him ?

Whichever way you look at it, it doesnt seem to me to be a pro-Hearts piece of art.

Would be interested to know who painted it and what it is supposed to mean

"You cannot be serious"

Him (Lennon) sitting on the deck like that, in the original photo, is reminiscent of Michaelangelo's Adam.

So it's tongue and cheek.

Oh FFS, where's Melvin Bragg, or Alan Yentob, when you need them?

Tongue AND cheek ?? Heard of tongue and groove

Anyhoo, have a look at Adam on the Sistine Chapel ceiling.

Then tell me your interpretation - one that is serious of course

Given the position of the radiator I believe it is in fact a representation of the long lost apprentice piece by Michelangelo which preceded and was the basis for his later ceiling effort.

It's working title was "awa an' bile yer heid" I believe

I just don't know what to make of that at all.... mellow.gif

What I will say is that I don't like the fact that beardy man has been moved and worse, also appears to have had his expression altered. Sacrilege.

Adam's destiny was to be expelled from "Paradise" in disgrace after one bad decision too many

That's another old guy who is in the original picture sitting there expressionless. There was two of them.

Granpaw Broon appears to have been added behind the woman in pink as well (and the daughter's gone).
