Summer 24 Transfers - Beni signs 2 year deal
OTT replied to Juho_Makela_Goal_Machine's topic in The Terrace
Reasonable depth behind them now too. Oda has shown he can make an impact, likewise Vargas, and Forrest works hard if nothing else. I would like one more first 11 quality attacker like Armstrong or McCowan - Reasoning is that this will force 1 of Dhanda, Spittal, McKay or the additional guy on the bench, which should keep competition extremely fierce and reduce the reduction in quality if one or more of those intitial 3 (Dhanda etc) can't play for whatever reason. With Barries recent injuries, its not a huge leap to think missing the odd game is likely. Memories are made in big moments, and I think this season we've saw a few players in the team can't perform in big moments. Thinking specifically of Forrests decision making in the semi against Rangers. I don't want to go through that again next season, so if we can strengthen just that little bit more, I think we'll be thanking ourselves come the end of next season. Trouble is obviously, Killie and Dundee will not sell either of their star players to us for a fee that is likely to be palatable. Doesn't mean we can't try though. -
Is there anything in politics more shit than the Labour Party?

I've not listened to much of him but he comes across as shallow and lacks charisma. Just another Westminster monkey trotting out the same old shite! -
He spat the dummy out big time at a team meeting. Think it might’ve been the one after the defeat at Easter Rd. He expected to be starting and was on the bench again. Kicked off a bit in front of everyone. Was basically told there and then to **** off back down the road.

Tbf, he was rated ( relatively) and said he had a few options. Always been a good gk, the issue for him was that many Hearts fans compare him to Gordon, which is natural as he's also our gk. Likewise, Our next striker will likley get compared to Shankland by many. -
Ten men couldnae carry Scotland..

Currently the best one on the thread, though.

The Red Flag was written with Starmer in mind. So raise the scarlet standard high, Beneath its shade we'll live and die, Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer, We'll keep the red flag flying here. -

Screaming Lord Sutch. -
It wasn't. Some started a " bellend" thread today about Snodgrass and it just got merged. My post was on the bellend thread, now it's been merged.

It doesn't really make sense TBH - yes on face value, but the reality is that Terry Butcher built a very formidable side at ICT using largely League 2/ Conference level players from England. Players like Carl DeMarco, Josh Meekings, Greg Tansey, Ross Draper, Marley Watkins and many more. Even now, they've got a few English lads, and have been able to retain players like Billy McKay (who keeps going back to them) and Aaron Doran. I think this is a very poor and lazy decision which will create a rift between the club and community. Being such a small club, IMO ICT need to be focusing in on the community angle to try and encourage locals to follow the local team (rather than the OF, which I think is fairly common place in the Highlands sadly). I don't doubt for a second that transfer targets knock them back because they don't want to travel and play that far away from the central belt. But equally at the level they operate at players are 10 a penny. If one doesn't want to move up, then move onto the next one. Unlike clubs like Dunfermline, Raith, Partick, Hamilton etc. ICT have shown they can consistently stay up in the top flight and these teams all have the alleged benefit of the central belt.

Scottish independence and devolution superthread

The UK under a financial dark cloud. More austerity on the horizon, whichever butt cheek wins in Westminster. But, how? Haven't various Tory/ Labour/ Tory governments been aware of the UK's broad shoulders? Pooling the wealth? Etc... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c100n7djyr6o -
The thread was started back when Snodgrass was still at the club, just been bumped for what is a newsworthy (as news media has picked it up) “performance” at the Hydro. People aren’t “piling on”, they’re simply observing that his personal traits - based on his own actions and words - are that of a bellend. Which I happen to agree with. Other acceptable terms could be arsehole, ned, maturity stunted grunt and so on… I’d much rather people opine on someone’s personality when it’s their actions and personality that is the source of the responses. Rather than people having a go at players personally for having a bad game or not playing as well as the fans expected they would. Which happens all the damn time on this forum and many don’t seem to take issue with.

Is there a monster looney party option. -
It's Cold War Steve. An English lefite. Probably Labour minded before Starmer took the 'red' out of the Red Tory tag.

Starmer crapping himself from debates. What an arrogant arsehole. Thought this was a union of equals and we lived in a democracy? -
I mind a few years ago, pre-covid that someone was posting about a wealthy businessman was going to donate large sums. IIRC the posting style wasnt great but he was insistent that it was going to happen. Then large donations by benefactors started appearing in our accounts and the rest as we know is history. Now I am very doubtful whenever I hear these kind of things but I tend to hope for the best but expect the worst. Would be great to have more money but it needs to be no strings attached (if the OP isnt talking a load of pish as is most likely)

I think so too. In a perfect world, there would be no Tories in Scotland. It’s been the case in the past so not impossible. Unfortunately, the sheepshaggers of a Southern as well as a Northern variety will ensure there are a few. Surely one loss will be East Kilbride. SNP MP crossed to Tory last year. Hopefully she’s toast. That’s one away.

I think the fact the open goal panel asked this question shows their lack of class too being honest. I used to like watching the ai ferry meets stuff on you tube. Is it the same guys, just with a more topical forum type show now? Haven't bothered with it in ages so no idea
