Lived in the states for 18 months in between marriages. Couldn’t work legally but mate of a mate got me ‘casual’ work delivering cars coast to coast (Detroit to San Diego usually) you got good food and board allowances for 12 days and nights but you usually did it in 7, 6 at a push, slept in the car if it was cool enough, and you pocketed the rest plus a $300 dollar delivery fee Usually a nice car too. Mustangs . Corvettes . Camaros

Heart of Midlothian 2025 summer transfer thread - Penrice signs for AEK
BackOfTheNet replied to hereford_hearts's topic in The Terrace
Correct. I get why Penrice got it, but for me it’s Baningime. I think if there’s two scenarios where in one Baningime was out of the team and in the other Penrice was out of the team, Miss Baningime much more and be much worse off. -

What you need is a box-to-box midfielder, like Hartley or Cameron. That way you get the attack minded player driving forward, but when the ball is turned over that very same player knows how to come back and defend. I recognise its easier said than done finding that type of player, but surely Calem Nieuwenhof has a lot of those qualities and should be able to play that role effectively alongside one of Beni or Cammy. -

I'm still of the opinion Beni was our player of the year last season ahead of Penrice. Talk of him leaving or 'getting rid' at this stage shouldn't be entertained even in the slightest. -
Want to bet on whether or not the new regime will take the money on offer here? Rangers have reportedly turned down Lille's first offer for Hamza Igamane after the French club finally made their move. Igamane impressed in his debut Ibrox campaign - netting 16 goals for the Light Blues after a £1.7million move from AS FAR last summer. That has sparked discussions with the Ligue 1 side over a potential move - with Rangers new owners, 49ers Enterprises, determined to land a bumper profit on the 22-year-old with the Glasgow club holding out for a £15million payday. And while Igamane has already agreed personal terms over a move no formal bid has yet been tabled - with Lille president Olivier Letang previously admitting the club were in no hurry to get a deal done. But, La Voix Des Sports now reports that the club have finally made a formal move with a £13million offer put on the table - but the Scottish Premiership side have reportedly stuck to their own valuation and turned down the offer. Lille are said to feel a deal is "stuck" at this stage with Rangers now unwilling to lose the striker before their Champions League qualifier with Panathinaikos next Tuesday, so Rangers "will be given time" to assess the situation following their clash with the Greek side and find a replacement - but it is expected that a deal could still be done quickly should they "raise their bids."

The word culture comes up alot in football. In thr Q and A there was a really telling thing DM said. Talked of a young lad training with the first team then leaving without helping clear up. He said won't do that again. Small thing but instills more old school expectation. Ultimately we need to win football matches and lose this soft underbelly we've had. Long term is he the man who knows but if he can make us big physical hearts and get that mentality back im all for it. If in 3 years say we need a new voice hopefully we change from a position of strength 💪

His first below par performance in months, in the first game of the season in sweltering heat in a game we won 4-1 and we should get rid 🤣 -
unhinged, dangerous, calculating…many words for his ramblings, that was spectacular this morning both online about Epstein and in the WhiteHouse about heads being cut off by machetes and rambling about the resolute desk and slating Biden then saying he didnt know its Lisa and her friends on the other side of the desk. Its genuinely concerning. You have not answered one question posed to you really, its just constant whataboutery. @redjambo pointed out things yesterday, your response was to say to him that you understand why he doesnt want whataboutery whilst avoiding answering his question. if you feel saying you are either uneducated on the topic or blinkered is a personal dig thats up to you. Feel free to report me for hurting your feelings by pointing out a fact. That fact is you are uneducated on the subject or you are blinkered. Many of us have pointed out why your view is blinkered. You disputed something yesterday not by proving said fact incorrect but by calling me an anti-semite. Yet uneducated or blinkered is too much for you? You started on about “biological males” claiming i thought you Transphobic yesterday too for some reason when id not mentioned anything about them. If you feel inclined to go and find facts to back up your views on your positions and views, rather than just engage in whataboutery then fine if not ill leave you to it. Enjoy your day im away to sit in the sun and protest with beers about why deep fried pickles should be banned 🤣❤️🤘🏻 🤣 half the world not just the board. Its redder than red here as is well known yet even plenty of Republicans I know are asking questions about this sort of thing now.

I’ve not a problem playing a DM, it’s two that drives me mad. Salvatori was immense, Brellier was vital to the Burley team. No one watched those players and thought what they need next to them is another defensive minded midfielder next to them. They allowed the attacking forward thinking players to do what they do best. -
Tbf. Almost everything he says or posts is a lie. So if you are right in the heid just believe the opposite of what he is saying/claiming and you will be correct most of the time.

Has a look of a 5-4 scoreline. Make for great games and as long as we score more than our opponents the job is a good un! -
Turns out after reading the Ukraine thread half the board beat me to it too ☹️

Nothing to do with the players themselves, simply DMc has very little experience managing non British Isles players, it's perhaps something he may be slightly apprehensive about. Don't know, not saying that is the case but maybe something in the back of the mind -

He was never a good attacking player, him and cammy were never the perfect partnership. But beni was still our best player second half of last season. So i think all of what you said there is nonsense, as you say. -
FOH have really done well of late with these events. Really helps with fan engagement etc...

I agree with the central tenet of your argument but it would also be helpful if we had CBs who can successfully complete one touch forward passes to midfield if they receive a back pass from Beni or Cammy to create quick forward momentum. Our CBs are generally crap ball players other than long balls. -
I wanted him to have the job for a while mate. It was my first time seeing him for us . Not for the first time I posted a bit light headed. Was more a thread for shallow judgement . I quite liked the replies about tidying up his beard 😂 I hope it's a thread for a good laugh and McInnes can look in and laugh. I liked his presence . Shallow I know . I didn't create the thread to be a live commentary though . I am sure this forum will do just fine without my wee wasted slant on it.

I've got a Reolink set-up. Really good quality for the money and easy to install. It's powered by a small solar panel. You can get them on Amazon. It has to be within range of your WiFi but means I can check it from anywhere in the world through an app on your phone. https://amzn.eu/d/dQrSNvU

Alan Forrest appreciation thread
Watt-Zeefuik replied to ...andFulton'sBaggio's topic in The Terrace
I appreciate his effort a lot. Being honest, if the K-wing brigade had been signed before the trip to Spain, he probably wouldn't have. We need to unload some players, as we have far too many at the moment. Forrest could be a candidate there, as he's not going to be favored with so many new attacking players arriving. At the same time, we'll still need a few players who won't start many league games and fill in on the easier fixtures. Alan Forrest is plenty good enough to play for Hearts against Dunfermline. In the long run, it's probably better for the club to get a nice 7 figure transfer fee out of Beni or Wilson or Nieuwenhoff and keep Forrest as one of those "glue guys" who fill in the squad. He's probably not costing us very much.
