Its a good point. One thing I would say is that I do think the club is just as mindful and Naismith has talked about recruitment being a long term plan from the club. It wouldn't surprise me if a few of the players out of contract at the end of the season get a new contract this summer. I think its easy to forget how many players were going into their last year of their contract this season. We have had 8 players sign new contracts this season (in the first team.) Anyone in yellow is in the final year of their contract. Positions aren’t perfect as a few players are all over the place. The three pre contracts added in with no contract lengths. I’ve probably made a mistake somewhere though…

Very true! One thing the club maybe needs to consider though is next summer as that could hurt us if we're not able to sort new contracts etc: Obviously Beni has been extended, presumably with a view to sell Summer 2025, but we also have Shanks, Kingsley, McKay, Devlin & Zander all out of contract (others too). Not hugely worried about Kingsley or McKay as would expect new contracts to be sorted over the coming 12 months. But Devlin, Zander and Shanks are all spine of the team stuff, Cammy may fancy pastures new, Zander might decide sitting on the bench at Ibrox/Parkhead on bigger wages is worth it and Shanks, well.. Appreciate its a bit doom and gloom thinking about that already, but absolute worst case that could be a severe gutting of the team next summer. Hopefully Savage is hard at work avoiding that.

I’m having to miss the game tomorrow for the same reason. Have been in Portugal, returned on Tuesday. Felt like sh!t yesterday morning, and tested positive for Covid. Probably caught it on the flight back. Grim.
