Yeah, players develop at different rates - I want to see Denholm succeed, hopefully as you say time on his side and I hope that gives him the experience and we see him grow further as a player -
Absolutely. St. J apparently awful tonight but, hopefully, Yan and his teammates see it out on Sunday. If it is a Raith vs. St.J play off then CL's fecked, imo.

English Premier League clubs to vote on scrapping VAR
Mikey1874 replied to tartofmidlothian's topic in The Terrace
The Newcastle 'penalty' was good use of VAR. Barely touched him if at all. So VAR didn't intervene. Exactly what most people want. Unless and this is the crucial point, you don't like Man Utd. -

He’s nowhere near being as good at pressing as Devlin, working hard really shouldn’t be enough to be starting games for us at this level. He needs a lot of work on all aspects of his game but he has time on his side with his new contract. Tait is already a better option. -
Great song but at its best with Brian Ferry’s cover. Great video as well.

Looks very good, now that I have been paying attention to him.

We really looked suspect at high and low crosses tonight, awful from Cochrane and Sibbick at the 1st, poor from Kent/Rowles/Gordon for their 2nd. We really need to stop crosses coming in. -

Supposition, what we know is that Craig didn't save them. People have to understand that Gordon is getting on. Was he fantastic, yes. Is he the same player, no. He is not past it, not by a long shot, but he isn't starting in front of Zander for a reason. Unless you think Naismith was wrong? He sees them both every day in training and plays zander. Why do you think that is? -

What rumours? Beni himself is directly quoted as saying he's made his decision. "I have made my decision and very soon, everyone will know about it". That's not a rumour. -
You know that Bob Dylan wrote All Along the Watchtower? I think my favourite of his, though is Hard Rain's Gonna Fall. I like a lot of Dylan songs but when I saw an exhibition of the Hard Rain project and then this video, it opened my eyes a little wider to this one:

English Premier League clubs to vote on scrapping VAR

I want it gone because it has become like an invasive species and spread way beyond what the initial moaning was about. Goals are being reviewed and disallowed for something that is not a clear & obvious error eg Jota being 10mm 'offside' and denied a terrific goal for Wolves at Anfield. Tonight Newcastle were denied a clear penalty - and I'm still not sure if it was actually reviewed by VAR official. A clear & obvious error (when compared with the Jota incident) that VAR should have spotted still didn't result in the correct outcome. VAR has ruined the match day experience countless times while VAR officials pore over footage - if it takes 3-4 minutes for VAR to arrive at decision I'd suggest we've jumped the shark now. Get it in the bin. -
Sung in the right voice, it is one of the most beautiful love songs, although I'd probably go for A Man's a Man over it - especially nowadays when we're surrounded and led by 'coofs'. Springsteen has a number of songs fitting many bills. 10 years ago, I'd have possibly voted for Jungleland; 10 years before that, Badlands; squeezing in the pure of Mary's Place at some point but the last few years, as I've become older and more reflective, Racing in the Streets is my fave:

One final season is worth it for me. If we can finish 3rd again we will start to pull away from the rest, still a gap between us and the Manky mob but we will start to cement our status as 3rd best in Scotland no debate. We need to try compete in Europe as best we can next year and Shankland will be key. It’s no the end of the world if he moves on obviously, we will regroup but we found a diamond in the rough, in this day and age it’s gonna be tough seeing him leave that’s for sure. -

Something that strikes me with Denholm is his workrate. He knows he's not the most talented player on the pitch, and a bit like Devlin he makes sure his workrate makes up for it. Would like to see him working on his range of passing. See if he can work on his game like how Devlin has - lets not downplay the fact that Cammy Devlin joined us at 23, had very little initial ball playing ability (but was an absolute terrior in winning back possession) yet in a couple of years has massively improved. Denholm is only 20, and if he can work on a few more aspects to his game, there is no reason he cannot develop into a steady and competent midfielder for us. If he improves his passing to the point where he can comfortably pass out of trouble and get the ball moving forwards and quickly then that will be massive. We don't NEED him to be Barrie McKay 2.0, just be able to move the ball onto players who can do the creative stuff and have the composure in the final 3rd. Not every youngster needs to be rockstar! If Aidan can emulate Cammy Devlin, then I'm pretty happy with that. -

Then you'll know that they both score. 👍 -
Hope they don’t get drawn into the playoffs, so he gets another week off before a big season for us. Since we have apparently signed him i think we have all been watching him and been impressed. Unlike Phillips who he waltzed past for the goal.
