Probably a bit saggy, unless it was Ann in her prime years while still firm and pert. -

Decent point. Remember we signed Zander as basically back up to Craigie. He was happy to make the step up from St Johnstone to Hearts knowing he'd be number 2, despite having been capped for Scotland. And it's not as if it was an outfield position, where you can rotate players from game to game, or bring a player off the bench after an hour or so. If you're number 2 goalie, you'll spend most of the season on the bench unless number 1 gets injured or suspended. - Today

No new major infrastructure projects, i.e. no new stands or hotels. There will always be some need to invest in the infrastructure, I took it from Budge's comments that the balance would be shifted far more towards the playing side now that we've completed the major infrastructure projects. The cost of new pitches could well be covered by the additional revenue we bring in from the hotel, so one infrastructure project paying for another. -
3rd season of Clarkson’s Farm on Amazon. And old business but entertaining as the last seasons.

There's definitely a good chance we could finish at least 24th, obviously luck of the draw will come into it. By progressing, only the top 8 go straight into the round of 16, so if we do finish at least 24th, we'd progress to a play-off round between the 16 teams finishing from 9th to 24th for a chance to make the last 16. I'm assuming there will be seeding in the play-off round, i.e. the teams finishing 9th-16th will be drawn against teams finishing 17th-24th. On that basis, it will be a hard ask to go any further than the play-off round, but again luck of the draw and all that. At least making the play-off round would give us an extra 2 fixtures and extra prize money, as well us further improving our coefficient ranking which will help us in our European campaign the season after next.

Thanks for that. So it means our home games will be against 1 team from pots 1 and 2, 1 from pots 3 and 4 and 1 from pots 5 and 6. So if TNS and / or Shamrock Rovers end up in pot 4, we want one of them away and a home tie against a pot 3 team.
-
The thing is, with the new format, it doesn't matter what pot we end up in. We'll be playing 1 team from every pot including our own. It could work to our advantage if we end up in pot 5 and TNS and Shamrock Rovers are in pot 4, as it gives us a 1 in 3 chance of getting one of those 2 as our pot 4 opponents. Far rather get one of then than Trabzonspor.

I did it just before Ozturk's goal at ER. Never been happier to be proven wrong -
I really don't get the fascination with one town as the only place to stay. Edinburgh is ok but it's a destination for tourists and day trippers, unless you live outside the centre. And it's pretty dirty too. Big world out there....

Is that actually a club? Sounds more like some Eastern European forward line.

Would be gutted if Shanks is away but can't blame him if a better league/team is sniffing around, as long as we get the money he is worth then reluctantly I would move him on, I would be going for Bair at motherwell if we lose him but feel we need 2 x strikers if he leaves. -
So as it stand, we're the only confirmed club to be playing in the play-off round. Another first for the famous!

That was it, bud. The soundtrack of the 1978 World Cup. Well, that and "Ally's Tartan Army", right up to near half time vs. Peru. 😊

We don't know if Aberdeen spent money or not. If their stadium was non-compliant in any way they would have had to spend money on making it compliant in order to play their home games at Pittodrie. We only know that Hearts spent money on the stadium because McKinlay pointed this out when explaining the difference between the revenue we generated from Europe and the profit we made from it.

How big a transfer fee we get, I guess, will depend on how many clubs are willing to bid for him. If he really impresses at the Euros then, ideally, we could see a bidding war. If he doesn’t, and no bigger clubs come in for him, that may persuade him that Hearts is the highest level he’s gonna get a contract for. Who really knows. Certainly not any of us on JKB. -

About 40 years ago, at Shamrock Rovers' old ground at Milltown, Rovers had a home game against Bohemians. The Bohs keeper rolls the ball to the centre half, who casually trots up the pitch. The Rovers midfield and defence keep backing up and backing up, and yer man keeps trotting, until eventually he's only about 30 yards from the Rovers goal. Suddenly, a voice bellows out from somewhere behind me on the terrace "TACKLE HIM. HE'S NOT YOUR ****ING SISTER!" -

We'll just have to see if there's a bidder, eh? How come there was none in January though? -
Turnover was up £6.2m, of which £0.8m was increased commercial revenue, so £5.4m from other sources. UEFA solidarity and prize money was up £4.3m, that's exactly in line with the number quoted on the site linked to earlier on this thread when converted to sterling. https://www.fotcalc.com/prize-money-calculator In addition, our gate receipts were up by £1m. The 4 home European ties will probably account for the lion's share of that increase, but our ST sales and average league attendances were up on the previous season. You could argue that qualifying for European group stages helped to boost ST sales due to the feel good factor. Looking at the £4.3m we made as prize money from UEFA, 1m euros was down to our results, or around £860k. So simply getting to the group stage before kicking a ball was worth around £3.4m. Let's assume 80% of the £1m in additional gate receipts was directly attributable to the home European ties, that would have given us a minimum of £4.2m before taking account of our actual results. So, looking ahead, we can bank on at least £4.2m or thereabouts as a minimum from prize money and gate receipts, and every point we pick up will be worth around £143k (based on us getting £860k for 6 points last time around). We do still have to offset the additional revenue against additional costs of staging home games, travel and accommodation etc for away games, players appearance money and so on.
