Getting closer
-
Did well last night, glad he got a goal. He's shown some decent touches, good movement, and works hard, but I can't help this nagging feeling it's not going to work out for him here. People have mentioned he makes good runs but we don't find him, other players aren't on the same wavelength, and I'd add that the way we've played this season doesn't suit his game. He doesn't seem to fit in. We might change how we play next season, Shanks might not be here, but I don't think he's got what it takes to lead the line for us. We've seen loads of players through the years that are hard working, tidy on the ball, that we will to do well but ultimately they don't make much of an impact, sort of journeyman like, I think that's him. Gavin Reilly, Dennis Wyness, Craig Wighton.

Lewis Stevenson & Paul Hanlon leaving Hibs - A thank you thread.

Not as far as I can see, someone even posted to ask HSL to pick up the tab !! I could be wrong though, not read everything over there. The fact that it even got that far is really shocking, what a complete bin fire of a club. -
The Nine Inch Nails original version is excellent as well. Written about drug abuse and self harm, the saying is, Trent Reznor was born to write it, Johny Cash was born to sing it and Mark Romanek was born to film it.

I'd like to see James Wilson starting, put down a real marker that young players will get their opportunity to show what they have. -
He has signed a new deal, it was announced just a couple of days ago. Naismith also signed 3 other midfield players and that has been an area we could have done so much more in over the last season, but it has now been addressed.

Another nail in the coffin of domestic football and step towards a 'super' league
Jarhead replied to Ally's topic in The Terrace
I think the majority of domestic leagues have become so distorted that super leagues may well be inevitable. A world super league above European, Asian, African and American super leagues. This would then probably see various premier leagues coming together ie Netherlands and Belgium fed from their respective domestic leagues. Where will this leave Hearts 🤷♂️ Where will this leave the SPFL 🤷♂️ Where will this leave the OF 🤷♂️ -

I never saw the first goal (couldn't bear to watch the penalty) and didn't see the second goal as I went to the toilets just to get away from the unbearable tension inside the stadium. It didn't bother me one bit. The relief at the final whistle is impossible to describe. An incredible day.

Spot on

i can’t believe he’d deliberately want to run down contract. Financially will he make enough to compensate for a year or lower earnings? And he carries all the risk of injury. that would not be the best advice imo
-
If we haven’t we really should be pushing the boat out for him, up the offer we made in January on a new 4 year deal with putting him through all his badges etc and a coaching job after he retires if he wants it. Chuck everything we can at him, free use of Budges boat and free hedge fund advice from Anderson, free pies in the Diggers too.

Ditto Frank McAvoy. All 3 part of the coaching team that has got us to where we are. Thanks to all 3 for an excellent season.

Is there anything in politics more shit than the Labour Party?

About time he stopped crawling. -
Near impossible to argue against a single word of that. If Shankland is happy to see out his last year than that should happen unless we are talking ridiculous money imo.
-
Imagine Beni announced on a three year extension and then Shanks puts pen to paper a couple of hours later

That's how I felt too - I had given my ticket to my brother who worked abroad at the time and gone to watch the game in the Caley Sample rooms with my dad and pal. It wasn't until I was writing my dad's eulogy 4yrs ago that I fully realised what that day had meant to us. 12yrs years earlier he had been consoling me on the Hampden terrace - telling my it's going to happen. Well it did and it was one of the best days of my life.

Best ever day. The scenes in Gorgie when the bus came back were incredible. So much joy, so much emotion.

I am thinking about the value for us not just 3rd but possibly trying to get 2nd or the ultimate pipe dream of 1st. Our form for a large part of the season has shown that keeping pace with OF is possible. There was a long period where Hearts obtained 52 points, rangers 53, Celtic 54. It’s the first time that’s happened since 2006. That form simply isn’t there without our talisman.
