But if there are other clubs talking to Hearts about agreeing a transfer fee (and sell-on percentage), they'd then get to talk to LS about remuneration and what they can offer him in terms of high-level football exposure. Its very possible that such a club ....(let's say Bologna, captained by Lewis Ferguson).... could blow Rangers out the water in terms of remuneration - and from LS's recent comments, money seems to be a big motivation for him as he enters the final 6 or 7 years of a top career. Would he settle for a significantly lower salary from Rangers in such a scenario ? I'm simply suggesting that having genuine interest from at least 1 big club outside Scotland this summer puts pressure on Rangers to make a summer move with a big money offer (assuming they're actually keen )...... and on Lawrence (to weigh up what he should do after refusing Hearts contract offer). As others above have noted, most Hearts fans would prefer him to move away from Scotland to a club we've agreed a transfer fee plus sell-on fee with .... if he's not going to sign with us. imo, he won't sign with us because he's ambitious to play at a higher level where he'll be more likely to win trophies and earn more money than Hearts could offer.

I don't see this as a hot take at all. Rangers are a bunch of dirty, underhanded, cheating vermin. The way they ran themselves into the ground, whilst tapping up players and constantly doing their bidding in the media to unsettle players and put the pressure on others annoys the **** out of me. Celtic might be "always cheated, never defeated", but the absolute nonsense that comes out of Ibrox trumps all. They do their absolute best to unsettle players and pay minimal money for the privilege, even trying to spread payments out over years (and then going bust and defaulting on it). The thing that I ****ing despise the most about them is that people still associate us with them. Diet Huns, Wee Rangers, Cousins etc. **** that nonsense. I hate them beyond hatred, and can't wait for them to financially mismanage themselves into oblivion, once (twice) and for all. The question with Boyce is twofold. Does he come back at any good level of fitness, and does he find his shooting boots again when he gets back? It's hard to remember but once upon a time he was a proilific scorer. Then he went ice cold, then he got hurt and hurt again. I don't think the dropoff was down to speed. It seemed mental to me.

The standard of refereeing (including in the Scottish game) is the highest it's ever been. And VAR, despite being a total buzzkill, is a major improvement by preventing the sort of egregious mistakes which would have occurred in the past.
