I get that but even though it is acting, to re-enact those scenes which traumatised him is something I struggle to comprehend. Scripting it is one thing. Acting it out is another. Put it this way. No one would expect a rape victim to re-enact what happened to them on Crimewatch. Why would you do it in a drama?

Foley deal with Hibs approved ( updated )

That would be so Hibs . Bin fire raging away , toxic fumes getting thick and green in the air , panic setting in , then here comes Ben Kensell sprinting through the smoke with a can of petrol in his hands

    The Tottenham situation.

Spurs need to take at least a point from their remaining 2 games to guarantee 5th and a Europa league group spot. If they lose both matches and Newcastle win both of their remaining matches Newcastle will pip them for 5th on GD.

I feel like he takes partial responsibility for a lot of Martha’s behavior in the show tbf. He even takes responsibility for continuing to go back to his abuser as he chases his dream of being a comedian. I think the whole message he is putting across is his struggle to let this go probably because of an incessant need for attention. Something which Martha and his rapist gave him in every way hence filming it himself. Thats my take on the show anyways.

I personally know four people who received two or more doses of the Pfizer BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine and who have died since. And I know many, many others who are still alive, but who I know for a FACT will die. And that includes me. Just saying.

I dunno. If he wants to go, two £750k strikers plus a £500m winger, if we spend our money wisely, would cover an awful lot of goals with a £2m profit. I definitely don't want to sell him cheap but £4m for a player on his last year ain't peanuts. I should add that if we do the above deal, ideally we've gotten maybe two reliable goal scorers out of the three signings and they're all likely under contract past next season, whereas if we let Shanks finish his contract and leave, we're out trying to find out next striker and have to come up with the inevitable signing fees on our own.

It's suspected by your uncle. No offence, but your uncle isn't qualified to make that determination, unless they have some coronial knowledge I'm not aware of. I'm sorry for your loss but blaming that loss on a vaccine that helped save tens of thousands of lives (quantifiable with statistics) is reaching, IMO. It's the same correlation is causation fallacy that Wakefield did with MMR and autism.

    U.S. Politics megathread (merged)

IIRC Biden won something like 85% of Black voters, which is a huge margin even for a Democrat. Some of the loss seems to be a bit of regression to the mean. There's always been a conservative streak in a section of the Black community, and why wouldn't there be? But every time there starts to be any movement among Black voters towards the GOP they seem to let the howling racists out again. At this point they've basically decided there's more to gain by catering to white nationalists in the US than to Black people. And unfortunately, on raw numbers, they're not wrong. Mate I have a fair amount of respect for your consistency on this but it's also a bit of head-in-the-ground stuff. I did not want Biden as the Democratic nominee and I have a laundry list of complains but they're nothing, absolutely nothing compared to the sheer weaponized malice, incompetence, and narcissism that was the Trump admin. Actually great US Presidents are either minuscule in number or non-existent, depending on how narrowly you define it. The greatest had critical flaws that left hard legacies for the country. The worst were catastrophic. Biden isn't among the greatest. But Trump was easily the worst ever and there's nobody close. Occupy Democrats is nothing but a shitposting account that's probably for harvesting addresses. They care about retweets/shares/whatever and nothing else, particularly accuracy. The common line between them to me is the mortal wound that was dealt to neoliberalism in 2008. Both conservative parties across the pond had a lot of constituencies in them but the economic and intellectual core was still the remnant of Reaganism and Thatcherism, respectively. 2008 blew that sky high, and in the UK the austerity programs created so much pain there wasn't much left. The neoliberals in both countries were wrong and bad for our economies and terrible for workers, but they at least kept a muzzle on the worst parts of the right. It took a few years, but after 2008 it became increasingly clear that the old GOP/Tory economic programs were intellectually bankrupt. That created a power vacuum and the populist nationalists rushed in to fill the void.

    Astrazeneca Covid Jab

Thats ones known about. My aunt died of a blood clot 2 weeks after an AZ jab which is suspected as the cause by my Uncle now but at the time they werent told it could be the jab. They are not on the class action lawsuit. And im near certain she was a victim of it. I am very sure the actual number is much higher. A small % of the wider population but way more than any other vaccine would get leeway for. It was rushed through. End of. My only point is knowing what I know now, Id have refused the jab. Time will tell what else comes out. Theres an abnormal number of cardiac deaths in younger people just now too.

I thought the series was brilliant since my wife is called Martha and her mother in law was over in Mexico so comparing her daughter in law to the character. I thought it had a few trainspotting vibes at times.

    Astrazeneca Covid Jab

50 victims of a risk that was known about in the first few weeks after launch. 50. Try a denominator now of the number of jabs in AZ arms in that population and that quantifies the risk and its size. More women have adverse side effects taking the pill as a percentage.

    Astrazeneca Covid Jab

Funny it became commercially unviable right when it was admitted that blood clots and heart issues can be caused by it that was forced out of them by a class action law suit. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/science/astrazeneca-covid-vaccine-withdraw-blood-clots-b2541291.html The admission came after the company was slapped with a class action lawsuit in the UK, which claimed that the vaccine had caused deaths and severe injuries and sought damages up to £100m for about 50 victims.
