He's pretty much ages with Theo Bair and loads on here are scrambling for us to sign him. Yet last season Bair got 1 in 31 games for St Johnstone. Sometimes it just takes a player getting a chance and having belief shown in them to kick on. Hopefully he can do that.

Scottish independence and devolution superthread

After declaring a drug emergency and a climate emergency, but doing **** all to resolve them, what exactly is the point of this latest political stunt? Nothing will be done because our Scottish government have no will to resolve issues, on fact they actively cause them in first place. -
I thought after the goal he got a shot of confidence. He was dropping deeper to show some one touch link up play. He also had a really good bit of play with Devlin in the 2nd half where the finish was just lacking a bit conviction. But he showed enough to be happy with his contribution and hopefully the goal gives him a big lift.

Absolutely buzzing if he stays. Still underrated by so many. Just everything about him, composure, always an option, never hides, keeps us ticking, winning his battles, his recovery tackles, his positional sense and his overall natural ability on the ball. When we play against the better teams and players you need players who don’t look out of place. He won’t

A couple of exceptions doesn't really change much, imo. Robertson did of course score some crackers. He did score more than 200 afterall. For my money, Robertson was more of a tidy, efficient finisher. I think Shankland scores a disproportionate number of spectaculars in comparison.
-
Yep I want to see him and McKay playing together for sure.
-
Very intelligent player IMO. The challenge is, and this happens alot everywhere in football, is he is not on the same wave length to the majority of our players. For example he'll make a curved run into a channel when the midfielder is expected a run to cut across the defence. Hopefully he can adapt and our wingers (Forest and to a lesser extent Vargas) can learn to look up.

Spot on Exactly

Glad to see him get his goal. Reckon there's a player there he just hasn't had consistent enough minutes to be able to show it. Hope he kicks on with us. It's the difficult part about signing new players when you have players already in their role that are performing well. I hope we keep him. I think he'll thrive with better midfielders and boys like McKay back able to pick out passes for him.
-
First time we have seen the potential. If Shankland goes he probably profits along with James Wilson and Kenny, as quicker in behind strikers. I think it will be more about combinations next season
-
I'm not having that, do you not remember his goal at Tannadice or his bicycle kick against Rangers at home? I know Shankland is top notch but Robbo scored some absolute crackers for Hearts.

Lewis Stevenson & Paul Hanlon leaving Hibs - A thank you thread.

To be fair to the pair of them they have both been loyal to their club and served them well - they are probably the last types of those guys we’ll see in football. They are not world beaters by any stretch but any player that has two cup winners medals from their career in Scotland at the one club, out with the OF should probably rightly be considered a legend within that club. The fact that they got such a woeful send off in terms of crowd / banner display and the story about their families having to pay in hospitality etc says a lot more about Hibs than the players themselves. An absolute embarrassment of a club. -
Not liking the font on that just looks too big on the shirt.

You'll find out if any go on general sale and with the "alleged" waiting list, none will go on general sale so it doesn't really matter what the renewal figure is. It'll be a sell out once again 😀 -
Just the best weekend going, hot sunny weather the Saturday and Sunday and plenty of beer! I had just turned 18 and it was a great time to be a Hearts fan. Hibs relegated, Hearts win the cup and the World Cup on all summer. 98 is up there with one of the best years going.

Great goal / great guy / great song / great hair.

I thought he done well, his movement is great, would like to see him on the pitch the same time as McKay, don't think its ever happened. Even before his goal he pulled back to the 6 yard line for Devlin to cut it back to him and he fizzed it across goal instead. I'm not writing him off yet that's for sure. You don't get capped for Japan if you are useless!

Best day of my life . . . . So far 🤞

Fair enough - I would like to see replacements in the door though. Don’t think we can underestimate how big a challenge next season will be on our squad as a whole. We’ll always have our Easter Road Scottish Cup goal memories when / if he goes.
