Their pitch was rightly slated a few years back for the state of it. They, quite rightly, have spent money to ensure they have a quality grass pitch in place. Matches being postponed because of the state of a grass pitch is every bit as bad as artificial pitches...well, maybe not as bad as the awful versions that Livi and Killie have.

Rather Glum 😂😂

Somebody who replied to the Scotland’s Co-efficient account on Twitter had calculated the probability of this automatic group stage scenario actually happening at 2.96%. Since then, Dortmund have finished 5th in the Bundesliga (which also needed to happen), so I guess the probability is marginally higher now. Stranger things have happened, I suppose.

I know that. I thinks that's when our football authority should step up to the plate and give these clubs some help. It will raise the standards and profile of our game.

And BT before them. -
Windows already does this with logs. I'm guessing this is just a visual version. In the search bar in the bottom left of your windows bar, type event viewer and fire it up. There you go. Everything you have done on your PC.

Osaka and Kyoto are amazing, and a good excuse to take a bullet train past Moutlnt Fuji. Would love to see the very tips of the country one day, from Sapporo (freezing) in the north right down to Okinawa (tropical).

Sky had exclusive coverage of it last season too. -
It's OK for us to crow about our £1m hybrid pitch, we can afford it. I'm not sure Raith Rovers or Airdrie or Falkirk can, it costs more than their entire seasons's worth of prize money, probably closer to 2.

Think I'm right in saying it'll be minimum 48 games next season so yes very similar to this season. 38 in league 8 in Europe (home & away playoff then if we lose drop into 6 games in the conference) 2 in Cups If we win our Europa League playoff tie that goes up to 50 games, as it'll be an 8 game "league" stage as opposed to 6 games in the Conference. Then obviously potential cup runs etc. There's also the bizarre scenario that if Atalanta finish 5th AND both Dortmund and Atalanta win their respective European finals, we would bypass the playoff altogether and qualify directly into the league stage of the Europa League. Atm that looks highly unlikely as even if Atalanta beat the unbeatable Leverkusen tomorrow they have a game in hand over Juve who are 4th, are 2 points behind and have a higher GD (+7), so a win & a draw in their last 2 games (both at home & both pretty winnable v opposition who are playing for nothing) will be enough to leapfrog Juve on the final day. Then we're also relying on Dortmund beating Real Madrid in the final of their favourite competition, again very unlikely. Again this would guarantee a 48 game season due to the 2 extra games in the league stage over the conference.

The Mrs & I are starting to think about the future, buying a bigger house etc. I thoroughly enjoy the job I'm in currently, there's a clear path for me to progress into more senior roles but I know I'm being paid below market standard for someone of my experience (12+ years). My work look after me, and are flexible with my hours, working from home etc, they aren't a corporate giant with rigid pay structures, but I'm wondering if anyone else has been through something similar recently and how they approached it? Did you get the desired outcome? I know I could approach a recruiter, but I'm not particularly keen on my name being floated round the market, as it's quite a small and incestuous one. My plan is to approach my gaffers for a pay increase, but how should I approach it? I'm aware I could go down the route of applying for other jobs and seeing if they'd counter any formal offer I receive, but I'm a bit worried that would sour things... Advice welcome.

Still, as long as the corners have been filled in by the time I return to Tynecastle for the new season I’m not bothered about other stadia. -

3g isn't dangerous, they have FIFA approval and have to pass regular tests. There's different quality 3g no doubt and the SPFL could tighten up on that aspect.
-
The other problem with " plastic pitches" is that some players are " rested" when they know they have a game on them. I have spoken to two pro players in the past whilst one had no problem the other started to get knee issues playing on 3g surfaces so much so he was again rested for these games. It is worth noting these players played in the lower league's where 3g pitches are more prevalent. Whilst I do understand these surfaces are put in for mainly financial reasons I still don't think it benefits the game as a whole. IMO.

So the issue was a non-binary individual who went on to identify as a trans man and changed their name accordingly? -
I doubt you would get many arguments that having a good grass pitch is preferable to 3g, particularly in the top flight. It's just that the reality is, not all clubs have control over their circumstances and the costs associated with maintaining a good grass pitch aren't insignificant either. The SPFL need to be careful here not to throw the baby out with the bathwater.
-
I must say, our pitch has never looked better. Spending that wee bit extra on proper drainage and a hybrid surface should be a no brainer for all clubs. I know a lot of clubs in Scotland might not have that sort of money to throw about but it should be an absolute requirement if you want to play in the Premiership. Tynecastle, in general, looks absolutely top notch these days.

I think you might be right; we'd get better Architects though 🙂👍 -
So we should just accept the quality of playing surfaces is dictated by the owners of stadiums, not the clubs or league, and be done with it? It's a shame if a club doesn't own their ground and are limited to what they can do. But if the playing surface is shite/dangerous then tough shit I'm afraid. We can't strive to be a top league if we accept lower standards of pitches.

Yep.... that was a strange one. Having come from a working environment where taking holidays right in the middle of a peak period were just not on, I remember being pretty hacked off at the time. Don't know if it was a family/school holiday thing, but the argument against that is there is no transfer window during the April and October school breaks. Mini rant over.
