What a mess they are in, simply glorious. -
I’m not sure I’d call a squad that had Puyol, Marquez, Thuram, Zambrotta, Yaya Toure, Deco, Xabi, Iniesta, Ronaldinho, Thierry Henry, Etoo and Messi a “mess” exactly…. What Pep did was take ball retention football to its extreme logical conclusion. Literally never give the opponent the ball. He did innovate the game in that respect. But he did already have basically the best squad in world football

All that floodlit, Trainspotting, emailing, swashbuckling, Brazil inventing...gone? How will the City cope without all the warrior poetry and the coolness...? I think I'm going to cry. -
Would always want Rangers to beat Celtic. Apart from having family from Glasgow who support Rangers I don't think there is a more detestable club in the world than ra sellic. Although I would still want them to beat Hibs every time.

Their owners are doing a better job than I could have with a flame thrower and a JCB -
Probably have been better not to have qualified for Europe and got some extra winnable games in the diddy cup group stages like the wee team did. 😟 Apologies, read on and see it's been said by many. I wonder how many that want the lesser tournament got to experience the Bayern game.

Hibs are losing their identity. Fast becoming a piece of a bigger more powerful machine. There is absolutely nothing they can do about it. -

they don’t even give a **** about feeder clubs they actually own, never mind one they have a minority stake in. They will never be able to build a side, at best occasionally luck into a decent player but won’t be able to keep them. -
Just saw the 9 darter on the telly. What an achievement from a guy who is so young. Good on him.
-
Barca were a mess until Pep took over. They had not won the league for two seasons and he built the side around a young superstar. He schooled him twice in champions league finals, not sure if Ronaldo played in any but the got beat easily in the end.
-
You not counting 1986 to 2003? And they still spent huge amounts even when they couldn’t match Chelsea.

Maybe for some but majority still believe they are going to get £1m plus players rocking up at Fester Road. When reality hits home, and you would think having seen L'orient go down in France it should be obvious black knights don't give a **** about the feeder clubs, it will be delightful to watch the carnage unfold. -

Even taking account of where you're coming from, that's a bit of a daft question. My issue with Labour is not what they've done in the past. It's that nowadays there's a real smell of nothing off them. They're not left, and they're not Blairite. They're just a blank space that's simultaneously there and not there, like a political thought experiment invented by Heisenberg and Schrödinger, and written up by Orwell.

People who think the Conference is better for coefficient points, moral, even money I understand (it's a false logic though) People who are scared we will get beat? That's crazy, we might as well not bother playing football full stop. If we are in the Eoropa League we deserve to be in it. -

They had a strategic review of their football operations remember ? That review was conducted by the Black Knights group . Then in comes Malky MacKay as Sporting Director . Malky immediately turns around and says he is not looking for a new manager , but a head coach . Now those titles are generally interchangeable in modern football , but the fact he felt the need to emphasise it was interesting and to me suggests that he wants some guy in a tracksuit to do the coaching of the players , but they will have little to no say in the players that are foisted on him . A few clubs have a lite version of this model , but the head coach has a final say usually . That will not be the case at Hibs because the performance of their team is pretty inconsequential . It is all about what is good for Bournemouth . Two members of the Black Knights already sit on their board . This is pretty far from the arms length model they thought it was going to be -

We have guys on here who use "player trading" as a stick to bash the club with. "We need to get better at player trading" "look at Hibs and Aberdeen". The big word is TRADING! Yes Hibs have sold well, or pretty well. But what has is got them? Basically it has kept them afloat. Never at any point have Hibs put a team together. An individual looks a bit better than the rest of the dross, he's in the club shop in a glass case within a week. Right back to mid2000s team which was all sold off, they've basically been relegation fodder and mid table since then. Which, we know is their spot in the game, but for all the millions they sell players for it means nowt. You could argue something similar with Aberdeen but perhaps less so. For us, we've lost some players to freedom of contract but at the very least it's meant we've retained their services longer than we'd have had we sold them off. What we've done well the last few seasons is hold our squad together. Beni signing is another great signal of this. That's way more important than selling off players and means more than that money which you then have to gamble on replacements. So while it's a necessary evil to sell players and we DO need to imrpove (the club admits it), it's not the ideal scenario for us. Its not in our P&L. Our manager/SD isn't pressured to sell players like they are at Hibs (have this on fact). -
