You'll get the umbros on prodirect I think. Certainly last time I checked.

Replaced my Umbro Specialis with a pair of Kaiser 5s a couple of months back. They're excellent.

I wish I had an endless supply of early predators. 94-98 sort of time. Never scored as many goals when I stopped wearing them.

King's or Copa's...close the thread.

Look the business but no Adidas boot feels comfy for me.

Had a few puma kings in my time but umbro usually suit me best

Was at my grandsons game on Sunday, he was wearing for the first time in a game his new Nike Tiempos. Betwen his boots/shoes and the other guys on the field there was a fair bit of monitory value being used on that field.

Sure the correlation is related to the boots ?

Not advancing years?

Sadly my football endevours ended very early in terms of playing for actual teams. Between early high school to about the age of 19 in the amatuers and I scored loads of goals from the left side and as a centre forward. I am 25 just now but had my knee smashed up twice in the space of a couple of months one of which happened on the football pitch the other was a very angry cow on the farm, Ended any hope I had of being picked up by a pro team as it has never healed properly.

I always went back to the old style boots (I used old Umbros as well) because they didn't have that horrible plastic coating modern boots do, Modern style boots i used to sandpaper to give extra grip and control. Often had to look on the internet to find them sometimes second hand but it didn't matter they were easily the best boots you could get.

The 1998 Zidane predators were my favourite boots ever. Wore them till my foot burst out the side.

Just got rid of my original F50s, the black ones with the white fronts, they were the business!! The OP boots are sweet as well.

Adidas-Adipure-III-Black-FG.jpg

Is that the Adipure II?

I had a pair of them when they were released, burst in my game in them, returned them to find they didn't have anymore in stock and had to change them for something else. :sob:

Add World Cups to that list, wear anything else and you deserve a kicking, I'd even boot myself if I was wearing anything else.

Copa Mundial (kangaroo skin leather) = a thing of beauty!!

I hate coloured boots, i'll make an exception for Brazil 2014 as the boots are that good:

You buy what you like & feel comfortable in, if they are top price so be it, if they are not, even better

Do you think it's worth it buying 'official' boots? The ?150 top of the range ones?

Dunno about that but for example there are, I think, 4 'categories' of umbro geometras. My 'real' ones (I think they labelled 'premier') lasted 2 seasons.

My replica lesser version, despite looking identical (think they labelled these 'club') lasted only 6 months.

So the material or stitching must be different.

My favourite pair were Adidas Bernabau's (94-95) was still wearing them even when they were 2 sizes too small. Best since then we're Nike tiempo pro.

I bought a pair of the Nike CTR360's a couple of years ago which were pretty expensive. I tried wearing them through quite a few games but they were tight and uncomfortable, I probably should have bought a half size up. If you are considering buying an expensive pair, I'd definitely recommend trying them on first in the shop rather than buying them online.
