haggis58 Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 Did anybody notice him being sick on the park today. That may explain his lack lustre performance. He didn't sit down on the bench either when he was subbed, as i saw him go up the tunnel followed by a member the medical staff.
Rawrrrrrrr Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 Someone else just told me this He was very rank and couldnt stay on his feet If he was ill then he should never have started and tbh its rather concerning if we are sending players out when they are physically sick

He didn't sit down on the bench either when he was subbed, as i saw him go up the tunnel followed by a member the medical staff. Gary McKay said he thought a few of the players weren't well. Stewart didn't look well in that second half.
Dave 1974 Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 He didn't feel right during the warm up and was going to be replaced. Looks like he has contracted the 'bug' that has nailed a fair few folk over Christmas.
Csaba's Broon Shoes Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 He had the same problem last season and he thought it was the sight of playing in front of the Hibs strips . Maybe he got a bit too close to the hobos while taking a corner at the Roseburn end .
Mister Dee Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 This surely proves the rule that "we hate the Hibs, they make us spew up.." I thought he was good in the first half but for obvious reasons did little in the second half.
cosanostra Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 He was all over the place in the 2nd half, the guys legs looked like jelly. Something clearly wrong with him.
holymoly Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 Looks like he has contracted the 'bug' that has nailed a fair few folk over Christmas. If he had the same one as me, we're all lucky it only came of one end

Nucky Thompson Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 Looks like he has contracted the 'bug' that has nailed a fair few folk over Christmas.I had the fecker for 4 weeks:mad:I thought I was going to die over the festive period:cool:
JamboBazualdo Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 Seen him being sick at the centre circle.. was then holding his stomach after being taken off. He didn't look with it all game & should have been taken off at half time!
Jambof3tornado Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 If he had the same one as me, we're all lucky it only came of one end Ewwwww too much info!!!
Zues Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 Seen him being sick twice. Once in the semi circle and once on the edge of our box.
Jambojohnnyboy Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 Even though I have been pretty tough on Stewart over the past few weeks, you have to admire his determination to carry on. I think if we were behind during the 1st half he would have been hooked a lot earlier.
hearts00 Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 Between utterly rank form, crap performances, indiscipline, and illness, I hope we do not see Stewart for a while.
Ray Winstone Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 He had the same thing at Hibs last year. Match against Aberdeen he kept chucking up on the pitch!
Beverley Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 I had the fecker for 4 weeks:mad:I thought I was going to die over the festive period:cool: i was the same. its a barstud of a virus thats doing the rounds just now. well played to him for battle on as long as he did though, but i still think he should have been hooked at half time if he was that bad.
The Doctor Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 Frail said on Radio Scotland that he wasn't aware of Mikey feeling unwell! WTF is going on?
adayinmay Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 He didn't look well at all today. I saw him vomit and his legs looked very weak. We didn't win the midfield today and his performance was a reason why. I hope he recovers fast because a fit (and controlled) Michael Stewart is a match winner.
pink_lady_2006 Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 yeah apparently he didnt tell frail but told others he was unwell before the match , to me this shows how much he wanted to play , ill or not !
Mysterion Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 i like passion and commitment - but not to the detriment of the team he was rank today. taking aside the illness - i reckon it'll take another 2 or 3 games for Stewart to find the right level of aggression in a game. i reckon he'll be thinking twice after his **** up when he got sent off.
cjambo1993 Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 Seen him being sick twice. Once in the semi circle and once on the edge of our box. I think rob (baldy) jones might have slipped in it
Nelly Terraces Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 He was as bad last week and he wasn't sick then. Just excuse after excuse made up here for under performing players. Stewart is a waste of space, just admit it.
Brian Whittaker's Tache Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 Made me sick just watching him,he was rank. and he's kinda GINGER!!
Grumpy Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 Gary McKay said he thought a few of the players weren't well. Stewart didn't look well in that second half. Must have been catching - the hibs support looked pretty sick at the end of the game too.
Debut 4 Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 Did anybody notice him being sick on the park today. That may explain his lack lustre performance. He didn't sit down on the bench either when he was subbed, as i saw him go up the tunnel followed by a member the medical staff. If he was , i applaud him. Because, if you`ve played football yourself you`ll understand we`ve all been in that situation at some time. You feel you don`t want to let anyone down and in the end you are puting your reputation on the line while trying to show courage. It`s hard. If he was 50/50 he has obviously went for it but there is no way he would have played if he was totally grounded by illness.
Barby Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 Made me sick just watching him,he was rank. The guy was physically unwell, for gawd's sake. He should have come off
Mr Romanov Saviour of HMFC Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 Fair play to him for playing. I just wish Benji the dug fell face first into it and choked on it.
Thunderstruck Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 Looked to me like he was sick after became off. He was bent double in dugout and someone else used a bottle of water to hose off the mess after he got back up. Admire his determination but he should have stayed in at half time. They had too much time in the middle of the park as he was off the pace after the break.

That has been tried and failed this season already.
john brownlee Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 Wrong. For the benifet of the team himself and the staff, being pros should be thinking about the team as a whole not ones personal pride /glory What ever , he as a pro should have been profesional enough to tell or admit the physical state off his fitness if you were a windae cleaner would you got work with a broken leg no, so why should stewart be below fitness and be allowed to work, he let his mates, bosses and the fans down by not being at his best. At first I thought he had picked the wrong footware as he was all over the place but now the news about him being ill/sick it makes sence. As I said on a previous post someone wants to have more than just a word with stewart. apart from that well done boys you did us proud I'm still on the happy train. no stops for me :5643::5643:
largoboy Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 He was holding his belly in the warm up when working with Nade and Frail was looking at him.He must have known something wasnt right.

Maybe he felt 50/50 and thought it`d wear off? There`s nothing worse than feeling like you can/can`t play, i think you`d prefer to feel really sheeite and be able to make a definite decision. It was a big game, maybe he felt he had to be involved given the circumstances?
Vlad_Knows_Best Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 He felt a bit icky before the game and the club doctor gave him a tablet for it. During the first half he felt like he had heartburn/indigestion. Second half he felt really sick and was....literally. He tried to continue but was feeling worse and worse as the game went on. After the game he was feeling better. Source: Michael Stewart
bighusref Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 Frail said on Radio Scotland that he wasn't aware of Mikey feeling unwell! WTF is going on? That is odd. My partner watched the game on Setanta and the commentator stated that they did not think that Stewart would have played as he had been sick pre match. Apparently he was adamant (prince chammming!) that he was fit to play even though he had had a good hoy.

coppercrutch Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 You have to remember that this bug is extremely infectious. If he was hiding this he may well have passed this on to others in the team. We all know the management need to act in a more professional manner at HMFC. Let's also remember the players have a role to play in this.
Serge Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 So, if your pee is the wrong colour you get bumped - But if you're ill at both ends with the winter vomiting virus you are allowed to play?
