Always a smutty comment, when a clean one would suffice.

My evening has been quite pleasant, so far.  😡

I wouldn't dream of it. Had a very pleasant evening myself. A fine meal on the Isle of Lewis with my wife and daughter, back to the cottage for a couple of drams watching a Hebridean sunset. I hope you enjoy the rest of your evening Morg.

And you too, Daniel.

We really must get that drink together soon.

Bon nuit, Monsieur.

Agus thusa dhuine uasail. I must admit my Gaelic (Scottish) is pretty basic, but my daughter's boyfriend is a native Gaelic speaker here in Lewis, and is very generous with his help. Especially as he's in Glasgow just now filming for BBC Alba. He was up here last week filming. Some pretty poor syncronisation there.

It's been on my mind for a couple of years to do a week at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig.  I'd prefer to find somewhere on Uist, Harris or Lewis, but Sabhal Mòr Ostaig are the leaders in the field and they do a couple of courses each year for Irish speakers.  Maybe 2023.

Funny as hell thread when it was "hot" but after a nice wee bump by Boof it suddenly descends into first an argument and now a discussion about Gaelic and Irish! WTF is going on here?

We have a bank holiday weekend here, so I'm taking the drinking easy and mellow (for the most part).

I've worked Thur. Fri. Sat. and now for Sun. Working 5 from 7 in a warehouse is a right pisser at times (well most the time TBH). Bank holidays just get added onto my holiday entitlement though so I suppose I can take hols when I want them instead of being told when to holiday.

Really disapointing to hear that Acey is no longer on here.

Shame he couldn't come up with any more ideas to provide opportunities for the idle and feckless.

Not off-topic too far though, I bet the mail readers would be seething at our use of Gaelic to wish each other a good evening. "Why can't they just say it in plain English, just like the rest of us ? "  It's all about having some soul dear Mail disciples. And a beautiful language to express it.

No for me just yet......a quick calculation means 150/200k windfall/win would see me telling them to ram it.

Could you not answer them in Gaelic just for the hell of it and post the replies here? Go on, you know it makes sense.

The sweary one.  😎

Sorry, men, no idea what the "sweary" forum is. Have enough with this one.

Surely Acey was/is much too well-bred for for such a site? 😣

I'd no idea there was another forum far less a sweary yin, a pointer in the right direction would be appreciated.

Has there ever been a campaign by the mail to get rid of the names of the 4 home nations.

I remember when I was younger, the UK was only used in Eurovision, it was always Britain/GB. I felt sorry and jealous of NI back then.

Indeed.  As we say here "tír gan teanga, tír gan anam".  A country without a language is a country without a soul.  And Scotland has two of its own.  :toasting:
