Dick Dastardly Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Hellfire (2026) 1/10 if taken as a serious attempt at film making 7/10 if watched as a joke. Probably best to avoid.
Ron Burgundy Posted March 26 Posted March 26 Send Help A dark comedy thriller with plenty gore. I wasn't expecting much but really enjoyed this.

Cheers The lead Rachel MacAdams reminds me of Melissa George a lot. It was 100 times better than I expected it to be. Some scenes are just WTF
Disser Pointon Posted March 27 Posted March 27 (edited) Good luck, have fun, don't die. Bit mental but I loved it, Sam Rockwell is great in everything. Edited March 27 by Disser Pointon

Bigsmak Posted March 28 Posted March 28 Went to the Cinema last night, on my own, to watch Project Hail Mary. I have read the book, and this is my favourite film I have seen for years. I am not a Ryan Gosling fan, but he was good in this - I laughed and I was also quite emotional at a few points. And the film looked amazing. 9/10 ... Not sure what it needed to make it a 10 but I will defo watch this again.
rudi must stay Posted March 28 Posted March 28 Pillion I myself am straight and this is a male romance film but I thought this was a good film it has a nice soundtrack and decent acting 7/10

It's not really a romance but a film more about the sexual dynamics of consensually abusive relationships in the gay community.

Two contrasting films but show how brilliant an actor he is. 👍

Great dynamic between him and Russell Crowe.

Fire_At_The_Disco Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Peaky Blinders The Immortal Man Absolute load of nonsense, they should have left it well alone after the series ended. Guff 4/10
Tazio Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Half way through Master `and Commander. I’d forgotten what a great film this is, tragic they didn’t make any more.
rudi must stay Posted March 30 Posted March 30 (edited) Brother (iPlayer) Odd 5/10 Edited March 30 by rudi must stay
rudi must stay Posted March 30 Posted March 30 Good Vibrations (iPlayer) I hate when films think they're profound it makes me switch off instantly 6/10
rudi must stay Posted March 30 Posted March 30 Femme (iPlayer) The camera loves George MacKay and fair play to the guy he picks original films and always puts in a good performance 8/10
rudi must stay Posted March 30 Posted March 30 The Eternal Daughter (iPlayer) An intriguing film. Tilda Swinton is great as she always is 7.5/10
adambraejambo Posted March 30 Posted March 30 Nobody 2. One of the worst action films I've ever seen. I enjoyed the 1st one but this was just terrible. I think I'm being fair in scoring it 2/10.

sadj Posted March 30 Posted March 30 Rory McIlroy - The Masters Wait decently done reflective documentary I thought, not much thats knew even for casual golf fans but an easy watch 7/10
rudi must stay Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Care (netflix) A film with it's heart in the right place 7.5/10
Muppetboy Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Dragonfly, iptv. 8/10. Really enjoyed this Brenda blethyn film where although very little happens, it's still very engrossing. A girl seeks to help her elderly neighbour when she sees the provision of council care is very poor. A bond forms until the elderly ladies son, played by Jason Watkins, suspects the young girl sees her meal ticket in life in the form of blethyn, so interferes and provokes the rage within the neighbour. What happened next was a bit like wtf because it seems to happen unexpectedly and brutally. Really liked this
Bigsmak Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Watched the Imitation Game yesterday finally as it had been on my watchlist for ages. Much like Hidden Figures, I really enjoyed the true story, overcoming adversity / prejudice aspect of the tale and even though we all knew the ending, it was still a fun watch. I find Benedict quite annoying and strange to look at - but gosh, he can carry a movie. Even in films like Starter for 10, he stole the show. A solid 7/10 as it was enjoyable and well made. No real complaints other than a bit of 'nothing actually happens' in the movie!
Muppetboy Posted March 31 Posted March 31 I'm about half way through a cure fir wellness is it worthwhile watching the rest after bed?

This was the Sunday after we beat Dundee at home.

Muppetboy Posted April 2 Posted April 2 A cure for wellness, 6/10,iptv. Started really decent and seemed an original film then towards the end ,things got silly and the climax was implausible and daft. Quite a long film at 2 and a half ish hours.

Some very good parts but it went on too long towards the end, I felt.
Elljay Posted April 2 Posted April 2 I saw Splitsville tonight at Cineworld for no other reason than it being the only vaguely adult movie on offer. Surprisingly engaging freewheeling romcom in which two couples get hopelessly entangled in half truths and petty jealousies to the detriment of their relationships. Very funny in parts with real easygoing chemistry between the four leads. Only unbelievable aspect is how two shallow dorks could end up with fantastic dream women like Dakota Johnson and Adria Arjuna.

PortyJambo Posted April 3 Posted April 3 Mercy, starring Chris Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson. Cheap derivative futuristic crime thriller that is reminiscent of Minority Report and other films of the type. Starts off looking like it might be interesting but quickly devolves into a standard murder mystery. 4/10
Tazio Posted April 3 Posted April 3 (edited) Rewatched The Death Of Stalin. Such a great film with a brilliant cast. Now if I could only find a copy of The Red Monarch to watch. A 1980’s film about the end of Stalin’s time in power that must have been an influence on it. Lots of the same ideas like the different characters having strong regional accents to indicate the huge diversity of soviet politics running a massive country. Edit. Just found it on YouTube free to watch. That will be a little treat to myself when I have some time to watch it. Edited April 3 by Tazio
Dick Dastardly Posted April 4 Posted April 4 Happy Gilmore 2 I loved the original at the time but wasn't expecting too much from this sequal I was wrong. Very stupid humour but very enjoyable.
