Cliched storyline, bad acting, dialogue...just terrible all around. 90 minutes of my life I won't get back. 2/10 He’s pretty much become a good warning to not watch a film. Quote

It also had Alex Pettyfer in it...that should have had the red klaxon alarm ringing in my head if Eckhart didn't. Quote

Malinga the Swinga Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Back in Action with Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx on Netflix is a solid 7/10. She hasn't aged a day despite long absence from films and plot line is decent enough with good chase/action sequences and some good laughs in-between. Worth a watch. Quote

I watched it last week, a decent adventure film with good characters and a nice dynamic between the 2 leads. Quote

luckyBatistuta Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Flight Risk went to see this tonight at the Odeon as the wife likes Mark Wahlberg. They make out that he’s the star, but he’s not really in it that much. Decent enough storyline I suppose, but so easy to guess what’s going on, really is a bit obvious. 7/10 worth a watch, that’s about it Quote

JudyJudyJudy Posted February 1 Posted February 1 "Juror no 2" 2024 Enjoyable courtroom drama with a few plot holes but well acted by the cast Nicholas Hoult and Toni Collette . Possible Clint Eastwoods last film due his age. And what a career this man his had. I think his first film was in 1956 and co starred Ginger Rogers and Carol Channing. ! hes thats old. Hes has had an outstanding career and completly deserves the awards and recognition he has garned over the last 30 years or so. 6/10 for the film Quote

Far more intelligent man than many thought. Quote

Yes a reasonable actor . However an outstanding director and writer too i feel. He went through a crap patch for a few years before coming good again with films like the great revisionist western " Unforgiven" then it was one critical success after another. if this is his last film its a not too bad swan song. the posh bit Posted February 2 Posted February 2 Infinity Pool. Netflix. Mia Goth getting her kit off makes this a 7 instead of a 6. Gruesome but very flaky. Quote
Gavman81 Posted February 2 Posted February 2 Companion Boy and girlfriend go for a weekend away and you find out early doors the bird is a robot… What unfolds after is actually really decent - violence, satire, social commentary all mixed with some brilliant humour. Really enjoyable 7.5 Quote

Madjambo21 Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Den of thieves pantera I loved the first one it was a action heist movie where characters had a bit of a edge. This one seems to take its self a bit more serious. Gerard Butler is good as usual Worth a watch though 7/10 Quote

Dawnrazor Posted February 3 Posted February 3 (edited) Nosferatu 2024. 9/10. Stunning film, lots of nods to the original film, Nosferatu The Vampire & Bram Stokers Dracula. Brilliantly shot in near black & white. I'd like to have seen Count Orlok looking more like the original and Kurt Barlow, but I get why he looks like he does. Well worth watching. *Edit* On Prime, £15.99🤬😭 Edited February 3 by Dawnrazor Quote

Americana Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Jurassic World : Rebirth Trailer Looks an improvement with the director of Rogue One taking over. Always geek out a bit over these films newer franchise being massively disappointing. Losing Chris Pratt and Bryce Howard easy decision to make. Quote

Gavman81 Posted February 6 Posted February 6 The Wolfman New version of the story we all know by the Jason Blum production studios so you know what you’re getting. Enjoyed it, nothing amazing and could have done more with the story I feel but decent watch regardless. 6/10 Not a patch on their update of The Invisible Man - that was genuinely brilliant Quote

Maroon Platoon Posted February 7 Posted February 7 Leave No Trace, available on Netflix. 9/10. If you think 9/10 is excessive, it's a 7.1 on IMDB and has a 100% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The story is centred on a marines veteran with PTSD who has struggled to fit back into society. He and his daughter live off-grid. I won't spoil the rest for you. It was an early role for Thomasin Mackenzie, and she's outstanding in it. Also one of Ben Foster's best performances, probably the best. Quote

rudi must stay Posted February 7 Posted February 7 The Last Kingdom : Seven Kings Must Die (netflix) Slow and dull 6/10 Quote

Been on.my list for quite a while, is massively highly regarded Heretic- High Grant is absolutely outstanding in this, creepy, intelligent, menacing and in his absolute element. Solid 8/10 for me Quote
tokyowalnut Posted February 8 Posted February 8 September 5 Story about the 1972 Munich Olympic Games and the hostage situation with the Israeli athletes. Told from the perspective of the ABC sports team who covered the story. Very good. 4/5 Quote

Shanks said no Posted February 9 Posted February 9 Lola (2024) 7.5/10 Very gritty US drama that almost reminded me of a Ken Loach film (not quite as there are feel good elements that don't ring true). Paramount+ Quote
bobby bombscare Posted February 9 Posted February 9 (edited) Had some mates round and watched LOTR the fellowship of the ring (extended version) last night and forgot how good a film it was! The quality of the special effects for a film released in 2001 are unbelievable!! I'm not really one for giving it "the old ones are the best" but when you watch stuff like this, you realise that we really are in a poor period for films. Special effects seem to have gone backwards, actual content is pretty poor and nobody trying anything new really. I'm sure it'll take a turn and we'll get some real groundbreaking stuff again but there's no films in the last 5/6 years that I think people will be looking to watch again in 25 years time..
