" The happy Prince"    with Rupert Everett.  Its a film about the last years of Oscar Wilde in France and Italy after his time in prison after his famous trails in the last 1890s. Its a very moving and emotional film with top performances from the cast.  Terrific.

I Saw The Light

Not a classic by any means, it plods along quite slowly. But I felt Tom Huddleston's attempt at Hank Williams was a good attempt, I felt like he was giving it his all.

6/10

Gifted - Heartwarming easy watching family film, 8/10.

Solo - Enjoyed it more than I thought I would, also 8/10

I, Tonya - wasn’t expecting much of this but it was really good. Margot Robbie was tremendous. Ended up feeling really sorry for Tonya Harding though. 8/10

Good Time - wanted to see his last year but they couldn’t get a distribution deal so it’s now on Netflix. A robbery goes wrong and Robert Pattinson spends the night trying to get his mentally disabled brother out of jail, going from one disaster to another. Well worth watching. 8/10

Brawl In Cell Block 99 - same director as Bone Tomahawk. Vince Vaughan (who’s surprisingly good) gets blackmailed into doing a hit in jail. A proper B movie with some great violence but half an hour too long. 6/10

I tonya is brilliant . Very funny but also very serious at times . In particular how she was treated by the middle class skating fraternity. Bunch of snobs really

Three Billboards.

Was pretty good but not a fan of films that don't tell a full story.

Got roped into seeing " Hereditery".  at the Dominion Gold class seats...Very classy picture house BUT the film must be one of the worse  I have ever seen. It was terrible. Looney plot . Only saving grace was the good acting from the cast.

The Lego Batman Movie

Liked all Nolan's movies and this was a really good addition to the batman universe IMO. Hilarious from start to finish

Kings of Summer

One of those pretentious arty films you see released all the time. Some good stuff in there but I felt it was a really angry movie that was trying too hard

Went to see Tag in the cinema the other night, pretty standard American comedy.

Had a few proper funny moments though, 7/10.

Finally got round to watching Black Panther thought it was excellent, good pacing, good characters, visually stunnibg but thought Martin Freeman was terribly miscast and the only real fault in the film

Captain Phillips -  very good.

T2 trainspotting -  I vowed I wouldn't watch this and wish I hadn't. Every scene has a Hibs reference shoe-horned in and fat Brad Welsh is chronic. As is fat Irvine.

I've refused to watch the first one never mind the second. Wasn't about to change my mind despite pressure from others and your review is good enough for me

American Assassin 3/10 - absolute rubbish. A storyline that would fit on to the back of a postage stamp and absolutely no surprises unless you were as thick as @@@@ in the neck of a bottle

I, Daniel Blake 9/10 - thought and emotion provoking film. 21st century Great Britain - not a great advert.

There but for the grace of God

100 Streets

Started watching this on netflix and expected very little as I'd heard absolutely nothing about it despite the strong cast. Really surprised: powerful movie, some scenes are genuinely shocking and it has some great performances. Idris Elba has IMO cracked acting, rare you even see a bad scenes from him and Ken Stott is great too which is of course nice to see, some talented young actors are in it as well that may go onto big things

8/10

Saw this on Netflix a few days ago but skipped past it. Watched it tonight after reading your recommendation and I am glad I did. Very decent watch with some great acting.

Denial on Netflix. Based on the true story of an American historian accused of libel by a notorious Holocaust denier must prove in court that the Holocaust did occur.

I vaguely remember the court case and the film IMO is a good representation of what I remember.

Well worth a watch but a film that you will need to be in a certain mood to enjoy. 7/10

Calibre

Watched this on Netflix. Can't recommend it enough. Its a tense and totally absorbing film, its full of scenes that afterwards you go 'wow, that scene really worked'. And it's full of conversations that are brilliant and only add to the drama. Brilliant

Remember the Titans. Loved it. Love sports movies in general but this was great 8/10

The Siege. Another fine performance from him in this aided by Annette Benning. 7/10

Fallen. Just couldn't get in to it at all. Didn't enjoy it at all 5/10

Watched Geostorm this morning as well as a starter. Woeful and last on screen movie I will watch with Butler as the main star. 3/10

First film I saw with Denzil in it was Glory and it was amazing. Early days of DVD when I would watch all the "extras" and the extras were well worth watching as it went into great detail of the true story on which the film was based.

Defo one to see though I am done with the TV for today. 4 films is enough. I am working through all his movies and I have worked from most recent and have just finished the 1998 ones. Some of his earlier stuff I am really looking forward to seeing over the summer.

Watched this morning. Not really into my American Civil war films so fired the laptop up to do some work while having this on in the background. Never even glanced at the laptop as was glued to the film throughout. Some brilliant actin, heck even Broderick was great in it.

Thoroughly enjoyed it 9/10

Cheers for the suggestion. :thumb:

Dunno what is next. This wasn't really a Denzil film for me, as he normally dominates the scenes but I personally thought Morgan Freeman was better as a supporting actor (Denzil won the Oscar for this) but on reflection Morgan won the Oscar the same year for best actor so no way they were going to give the 2 biggest Oscars to the same actor.

Need to watch driving Miss Daisy as this is the movie Morgan won the Oscar for. What a year of acting from the big man.

Morgan (the actor, no offence to the poster on here) is a favourite of mine too. Glory was the first time i noticed him in a movie and what a part he played. The scene round the campfire was amazing and I get goosebumps just thinking about it.

I have never seen Driving Miss Daisy. Isnt it a lassies movie?

Not seen it but will put it on my most to see.

I am so greatful for the Glory reference mate. I absolutely loved it and will watch again and again. So good. It's a vintage film for me to go back and watch a film I have missed in the late 80's early 90's but this one was superb!

Nice voice aside I don't get the hype with him to be honest. Although The Shawshank Redemption is a brilliant performance

Only The Brave. Based on the true story of a bush fire fighting crew in the USA. I vaguely remember hearing about this on the news but the movie brings home the reality of the guys who fight wildfires on the ground.

Best movie I have watched in a very long time 10/10
