Once Upon A Time .....

Last night. Like waiting 2 hours for a bus to come along. Get on the bus to find it full of drugs, booze and loud music only for the bus to reach its last stop after you just got on!!

Bad Boys

A couple of laughs but not a film I would watch again 5/10

Fecked up the name of this one - it was Good Boys!

I agree - though at the moment I may not be the best to listen to for film reviews.

Baby Driver on Netflix.

Rotten.  Really, really bad.  Stopped it about 45 - 60 minutes in.  (if that).

Thought it was quite good.

Horses for courses mate!

I just found it not very good.  Spacey was decent in the bits I saw, but I found it all a bit contrived, trying to ape a Tarantino style kinda thing going on, and it just didn't work for me.

The bit in the cafe, chatting up the waitress, just killed it off.

Not sure how much you seen but it gets quite action packed in the latter stages. I liked the music too.

It was certainly a better Tarantino film than Tarantinos latest.

Just out of OUATIH and unfortunately have to agree with the criticisms on here. Apart from the Ranch scene and that fantastic wee burst at the end, nothing happens in an almost 3 hour long movie.

Alita

There's some good stuff, Christopher Waltz was good as always, and the film has some interesting moments and scenes. But I felt there was too much going and it wasn't as good as it could have been

John Wick 3

It's John Wick - the third one.

Like the first 2 but with horses.

Great mindless action film made by mental stuntmen.

Meh

Extra point for Harrison Ford.

Blatant cash grab.  The movie, not Harrison Ford.

Sure he got a wedge for 3 days work though.

Glad to hear it was similar to the first two

John Wick is basically Drive 10 years later with a different name. But who cares, Drive was a very good film visually. They could make any film like Drive to be honest and probably should

It's quite simply:  If you liked the first 2, this is for you.

I loved them all.

Stuntmen making movies - what's not to love?

 It is what it is.

Flat out daft action.

It doesn't pretend to be anything else.  I loved all 3.

What makes it different is that it is 100% made by stuntmen and Keanu done loads of the stunts himself.

It's all real stunts.

Beast

Really good thriller. Kept me intrigued the whole time and the two main stars have good futures, in fact everyone puts in a good shift. If you're into thrillers/ at times horror then give it a shot

Was fortunate enough to get free tickets for a preview showing of this earlier today. It won't be everyone's cup of tea but if you love Jamaica and reggae then you will enjoy it. It's a documentary capturing a remarkable group of reggae legends (including Ken Boothe, Winston McAnuff, Kiddus I, Cedric Myton and Judy Mowatt) as they gather to record an album of hits in an unplugged style that harks back to their roots.

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.

Best film I have watched this year. LDC, Margo Robbie and Brad Pitt are fabulous in it 9/10

Agree

Not surprised there are different opinions. It's unusual. But I thought it was a really positive film. Final story included. Margot Robbie is very good and surprised there was criticism of her portrayal. Different. No way is Tarantino just doing one more film.

The Best Of Enemies

1971: at Durham, in North CarolinaAnn Atwater tries to get better housing conditions for poor black people, and is ignored by the all white judge panel. C.P. is the president of the KKK... don’t want to tell you anymore about it😉

Good film, starring one of the women from the Hidden Figures movie

Saw Terminator 1 & 2 at the Odeon on Thursday. Havent seen them before and really enjoyed them. Effects a bit dated but decent enough story and acting.

IT double bill on Thursday. 321 minutes - I am tempted but would struggle to get up for work on Friday

Red Joan...

Joan Stanley is a widow living out a quiet retirement in the suburbs when, shockingly, the British Secret Service places her under arrest.

Starring Judi Dench and a hot Sophie Cookson.

My wife and I thought it was garbage. Don't mind a little bit of Dakota Johnson though.

Yup, bang on. I think I put something similar on here for that too. It really is a truly awful film.

My first time seeing Terminator was at the cameo about 5/6 years ago, my feelings were pretty similar to yours. Love watching films from yesteryear in a cinema rather than digging out a DVD

Went to see ‘Yesterday’ today. Was really looking forward to it, as the story was something just a little bit different. It was about a guy who was failing as a musician, until something happens and suddenly nobody has heard of the Beatles. He then starts to sing their songs and make out they are his work.It started off alright, but found myself halfway through praying it would just end (didn’t help that Ed Sheehan was in it) It was meant to be a bit of comedy too, think I laughed twice.

Went to see this on Monday.

Thought it started well but went flat.

Thought Kinnaman was good in it to be fair.

Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark

Another OK one. Seemed vaguely familiar - unsure if it was a rip off of a previous film. Thought it was caught between trying to be a horror and trying to tell a good drama story. 6/10

IT CHAPTER 2

Not as good as the first chapter but that was always a hard ask.

Couple of jump scares and some funny lines but maybe a bit too long.
