Thanks, that's sad. What was the last good remake? The Thing 2011?

It was about the first expedition.

I liked the Friday the 13th remake with Jared Padaleki.

Not as good as the original but was a good popcorn movie with some cool deaths in it.

I still don't know what to do with this film. Jason Voorhees was outstanding, though I prefer Kane Hodder as an Actor. In this movie he is fast, furious and absolutely lethal.

But other characters are flat. Actors from the 80's are so much better. They even can laugh from the top at the modern ones.

MV5BM2U4MzU5OTUtOWMxYi00NWM1LWFhYmUtOGNi

I agree - some killings are good, but Jason is a silent killer, he is not a sadist. Seems like the makers of this motion picture don't understand that. He kills fast and unexpectedly. There are a lot of psychological things that could have been shown.

Jason takes a captive? Why we should concentrate on sister if she is doomed anyway? Jason like a Friday 13th is a mystery, but in this film - not so much.

I liked the start where you thought you were meeting the characters just for them to all killed off (apart from the sister)

Do agree that he just kills without the suspense in this film.

Was looking forward to the Evil Dead remake when it came out but it wasn't a patch on the original

Some graphic deaths but like Friday 13th characters were poor

John Wick 3 Parabellum

If you like the first 2 installments you will love this one.

John Wick on the run from the Continental and high table.

As you can imagine lots of hard action.

Numerous ways people get off'd and some funny moments too.

9.5/10

Hope people enjoy this as much as me.

Watched Dune last night. Not seen it in many a year. Visually it still looks amazing albeit a bit messy in places but that’s understandable with it being over 30 years old!

Story is still confusing and patchy especially at the beginning but it flows well.

Worth a watch again if you are into SciFi.

Theres a remake coming out in 2020 which I’m sure il see in the cinema.

Dune is a cult classic in my opinion, such a shame Lynch never got to realise his true vision for the film though (as what he did manage is visually outstanding).

Seriously looking forward to the remake!

The 82 version was a remake of the 51 version, the 2011 movie had elements of both. But tried way too hard with the shit cgi. The 82 version imo is the best remake of any sci- fi horror movie .

Hateful Eight

Didn't have the usual zip you get from Tarantino for me. Still an interesting watch with some brilliant acting and I liked the soundtrack too,  recommended if you're a fan of his and haven't seen it

Just seen Rocketman and I’d give it 7.5/10. I don’t feel the need to see it again this week, it is also a very much in your face account of drink and drugs and sometimes subtlety tells a story in a more powerful way.  Mind you I like how they told the story. It is much more a musical about a person than biopic.

Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile.

7/10

Zac Efron was really good as Ted Bundy. It really showed how charismatic and manipulative Bundy was.

It was quite weird seeing Jim Parsons in a serious role though.

Rocketman.

Was hoping for a biography but got a musical. I grew up in the 70s and 80s with the music of Elton John playing on the radio and in our house. I was familiar with the music but not the man.

I dont know how accurate the film is other than EJ had a LOT of addiction issues but it was a compelling watch. Not usually a fan of musicals but I totally loved this one. The film flowed well with some tremendous acting.

Does it worth watching?

Original is such a classic. Friday 13th series, Elm Street series, From Beyond (1986), Critters and others - one great movie after another.

Iv all the critter films ??? Not a horror fan my collection and its extensive 2400 films only has about 2horrors - ones event horizon.

Finally got round to watching Us last night. I quite enjoyed it - slasher more than a horror. Good story with a few humorous moments but the ending was a wee bit of a disappointment. Despite the ending would still give it 7/10

Watched this last night and was so disappointed.

Didn't think Get out was anything special either.

Overrated in my opinion.

What if we can't die? Or planet Earth is not the worst place to live? Where is this bad place; and I'm not talking about mythical hell or Dante's circles.

I can think of these songs:

Morbid Angel - Desolate Ways

Machine Head - Damage Inside

Nevermore - Dreaming Neon Black

Yeah, they are too fun to watch, great films.

Event Horizon is an underrated movie, a little bit forgotten. So, from what I remember about it - it's better not to die in this film. Hell exists there in a brutal form, at least for a crew members.

Great, in one movie you can't die, another one - better not die.

I watched Edtv (1999):

This guy is a part of the reality show (where cameras don't know what the break means), this situation almost destroyed his life and love . He wants to stop, but there is a contract. What to do?

The new Godzilla film

Standard business for this type of film. Shame you don't really get a decent view of the monsters though. It's quite dark or loads of flashing lights.

5/10.

Aladdin

Disney are fair cashing in on the live action versions of older films. We really enjoyed Dumbo but Aladdin is spectacular. My two kids were blown away by it.

The colours were so vibrant - it brought to mind the first time I saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as a kid in the 70s.

The music is much the same as the original film but the one new song that I noticed was probably the weakest song.

My daughter and son both want to go back to see it which is what Disney want. 7/10

It's something I've always meant to get round to watching but never have.  Would watching the movie make sense without having seen the series?

Rocket Man

Very impressed with this film. The musical set pieces worked well, good acting throughout from everyone (would really like to see an Oscar nomination for Taron Egerton) he has a tough part and gives it his all. And Richard Madden is the man as an actor right now, superb in his part. Recommend it

10/10

Captive State

Not your usual alien invasion movie, they have taken control but live underground and are rarely seen. It's more about the divide between the people left.

Reminded me of V the original series, V for vendetta and recently Bushwick.

Load of absolute shite. The youngsters who played the main characters did their best, but not a lot they can do if they're handed a crap script.

That's more encouraging. I love a big monster film. Thought the last Godzilla was way better than Kong Skull Island. Nowhere near enough Kong in that one for me.

Was hoping to catch Godzilla today but didn't manage it. Will catch next week. Gutted it aint on at IMAX

My son and I went to see Godzilla tonight. LOADS of action. Usual kind of story that isnt hard to follow.  I must be getting old as I thought the volume was way too loud.

My son absolutely loved it and asked me to give it 9/10. His face during the fight at the end was worth the entrance fee alone

Really clever and funny film all about a girl short on rent money so attempts a dodgy drug deal.
