I Think We're Alone Now

End of the world post apocalypse film, with Peter Dinklage and Elle Fanning. Interesting film, loads of good ideas and scenes, and Dinklage and Fanning are both excellent. Nice soundtrack too

Watched it last night.

I can't decide if I liked it or not.

Although the first story with Buster I definitely liked a lot.

very much where I am.

Got off to fantastic start, other stories dragged on and on.

BUMBLEBEE

Took my son to see this and both enjoyed it.

Plenty robots fighting to keep him happy and lots of 80's music and references to keep me interested.

7/10

BIRD BOX

Science fiction thriller with Sandra Bullock.

Some sort of entity that if you see it you kill yourself.

Reasonably good film but not as tense as a quiet place

Johnny English Returns. My son wanted to see this when it came out but we didnt have time together to do so. Saw it today. Another movie that he loved with lots of laughs for him.

Wonder Wheel

Quite liked this film. A Woody Allen film, so there's a great script and both Timberlake and Kate Winslet put in good performances

Angela's Ashes

Just one of those films that keeps your attention every minute due to its quality. A horrible childhood McCourt had but film wise, it's strong stuff

Johnny English Strikes Again

I didn't even stick with it to the end, which I don't like doing but I didn't see any reason to. Random and really unfunny film that isn't anywhere near the first two

Mary Poppins Returns.

Great movie made with the feel of the original. Took me back to my childhood and I loved it 9/10

Couldn't agree more. I get bored easily and can't sit still for very long, but I did with this film

Ideal Home 7/10

Steve Coogan and Paul Rudd are a rich gay couple who end up having to look after Steve's grandson. Feelings ensue.

I get bored very very easily so it's a minor miracle I got through such a slow moving film.

Once I got past Alan Partridge and Crapbag from Friends being a couple it wasn't awful. I smiled a couple of times and got to the end, a rarity in a film without excitement, drama, action or tits.

Not my normal cup of tea but deserves a decent score for getting me to the end without a single tantrum or walkout.

Holmes & Watson.

3/10.

Watch the trailer because all the funny bits are in that.

Will Ferrell by numbers, a very poor effort saved only by John C Reilly who is brilliant and Rebecca Hall in a basque.

One for the Will Ferrell die hards.

Saw Bohemian Rhapsody on Friday. Great film and some fine acting especially Rami Malek playing Freddie and the guys playing Brian May and John Deacon.

Had to hold back the tears a couple of times and tapping my feet to the music.

Bohemian Rhapsody

Very strong film. Some great scenes throughout and I felt time flies watching it due to how exciting every scene was. I thought Rami Malik was brilliant as Freddie Mercury, he is an actor I will watch out for in the future

Just watched Bohemian Rhapsody - simply superb 9/10. This film is a must see. As other posters have said Malik's performance was tip top. The 2 hours flew by. Will see again.

Great fly through the career of Queen and Freddie's life.

Non stop.

Spoiler

Here's a wee comparison of the Live Aid concert performances

Watched Casino again last night with the GF. Warned her it had some pretty disturbing scenes in it which didn't bother her. Not only is it a fantastic film, it has 2 incredible acting performances in it by Joe Pesci as the unhinged Nicky Santoro and Sharon Stone's performance as Ginger which is a true acting masterclass.

Old but very very brilliant!!

Holmes & Watson - utter rank.

The reviews have been awful.  I tend to trust them.  Im more looking forward to John C Reily as OLiver Hardy and Steve Coogan as Stan Laurel in " stan and ollie" which opens soon. It looks terrific. They were outstanding comedians and such a beautiful relationship on screen and off.

My son wanted to see H&W.....

I really fancy the Stan and Ollie film. Odeon have a showing tomorrow but I only get to see kids movies at weekends due to having my kids. All my own choice of viewing are midweek trips.

Yes me to. Its mainly about their trip to the UK in the late 40s early 50s where incredibly they played to some half full houses.  But carried on regardless. Stan was inconsolable when Ollie died. Stan was the brains and creative genius behind their success. Ollie knew this and had no jealousy about this but he obviously made them a success too. Today's so called " talented" double acts should take note.  * Ant and Dec !! Yuck...I will probably go and see it at the Dominion or Cameo

Yeah Im a big fan as I recall watching them on TV as kid.  Their films and short films are sometimes shown on Channel 81 Talking Pictures which is a great channel if you like old films. I do. Ollie died in 1957 and Stan died in 1965.

One of my very favourite films, as you say Joe Pesci and Sharon Stone are brilliant in it, de Niro too of course. I can't even begin to count how many times I've seen it.

I think Pesci is amazing. He can do any role. The big names now (Cumberbatch, Fassbender) not a patch on him in my opinion.

I, Daniel Blake

Heard great things, but I find Loach's films sometimes very one dimensional with rubbish characters and this seemed an unhappy slog so I avoided it. I was very impressed by this though, well acted, lots of excellent sub plots and scenes. Not much bad to say about this one. If you want a good independent film that has controversial things to say (rightly so too in my opinion) then it's worth a watch

That's right. But acting wise he can do it all in those roles. The Irishman is his next film, Martin Scorsese directing, have a look at the cast for that..

Brave

More Pixar magic. Only they can make a film like it, what impressed the most was the Scottish Mythology side of it, it may not be all be true (who cares it's a film to be honest), but you can really appreciate the effort that went into it from all involved
