You appear to be a reasonable individual (not) so let's leave it at that then.

Although the league table never lies!

I am very reasonble.

You however have decided to take it upon yourself, or at the request of Interista, to defend this individual in light of the fact that he has on more than one occasion openly promoted stabbings and violence to supporters of other Italian clubs.

Wether this is just fantasy on his part or he actually does glorify such actions are irrelevent. He is stating them in an open forum and comments such as 'opening up Romans' cannot and should not be tolerated regardless if it's Italian or Scottish football, either in jest or seriousness.

The fact he is a ST holder at Tynecastle doesn't cut the mustard mate.

Well I'll pop off back to the real world whilst you ruminate in the glorified ether of an online forum indulging in the judgment on others.

It's been a pleasure.

Not.

Just a quick point of clarifcatin in response to some of the factually incorrect comments being made on this thread.

As a regular follower of Italian football I can't find any reference to a Roma fan's death @ an Inter-Roma game but we can all be guilty of selective memories can't we or assigning a tragic loss of life to an event.

Apologies, this young man was murdered attending a Milan-Roma match. Still interista can still go and chuckle at the spot he was stabbed to death at in the city if he wants, eh?

Think Inter will win the Scudetto as they are the best side in Italy and that's reflected in their current league position.

It's an old cliche, but a truism nonetheless. The League table doesn't lie. Well, normally.

Just in case there's some confusion on interista's ability to comment on matters concerning either Italian football or Hearts then I can personally vouch for him having known him for over 20 years. We're BOTH season ticket holders @ Tynecastle although geography is obviously a determining factor when it comes to getting back to Tynecastle. So as a Hearts fan from Edinburgh living in Italy I'm liable to be consider his point of view valid and informed. End of.

It matters not a jot what interista's football-following credentials are, and I've never doubted them for a minute. What matters is is his poor taste on this forum in openly wishing for Roma fans to be murdered in Turkey after having previously made inappropriate comments celebrating the deaths of Juventus fans at the Heyselstadion.

The sound of my feet hitting the ground would not be heard had I chosen to make inappropriate comments on the Tommy Burns cancer thread for example. interista is your mate, cool. He's a Hearts fan from Italy, cool. His warped spoutings on here wishing death on supporters of other teams, and celebrating past tragedies. Distinctly uncool.

Or do we get to pick and choose who's offensive, based on whether they like to wave Union Flags or not?

Hypocrisy is the greatest luxury.

June 4 1989 -Antonio De Falchi,AS Roma fan De Falchi died of a heart attack after being attacked by a group of AC Milan hooligans outside Milan?s San Siro Stadium.

But don't let the facts get in the way.;)

People on here need to lighten up. At Tynecastle the other week at the Rangers game, i sat in my seat, willing Barry Ferguson to do his cruciate.

Are you trying to tell me that no one ever wishes ill on their rivals, players and fans, when they are furious after a game, a result gone the wrong way, whatever? Honestly, the sanctimonious, holier than thou attitude of people on this forum makes me laugh.

football evokes passion. I'm a well-educated woman but i have wished ill on many in times of rage at and after football. So has my boyfriend, and he is one of the most placid, peace loving people you could ever meet!!

To suggest that someone wants to go and laugh at a spot where someone died makes yoou sound as sick as the people you are so quick to condemn...

My point was that people on here all too often choose what to get offended by. And allow certain posters certain leeway for some incomprehensible reason.

A post from a Chelsea-avatar poster wishing Celtic fans got stabbed to death in Turkey would have got a far different response to interista's I reckon.

In what way? That people would have rounded on them? Okay, well, what about some well known posters who don't have a Chelsea avatar, but post about smashing celtic fans heads in back inthe day when football was a proper fighting day out. Guys who I have seen on trains, fighting each other, guys who I have seen in complete rages in the pub at their mates, because they dared to disagree with them. Guys who make me ashamed to be a Hearts supporter when I have to sit anywhere near them.

These guys rarely get taken to task, is it that people are too scared to?

And interista gets fuming after a CL tie that throws up two dodgy red cards, makes a couple of stupid comments, and then get absolutely castigated for it.

And what proof do you have that he celebrated Heysel? that's a big accusation.

There are double standards alright, but maybe not inthe way that you see them.

And whilst we are on about Chelsea Avatars posters, I have had more than my fill of the Rangers love in that has been happening on this board of late. It's pathetic. We've had people saying they would't mind if we lost to Rangers so that celtic won't win the league, and others on here condoning that???!!!!! Incredible!!! Anyway, this is way off topic.

Mon the Gooners!

So the Gooners season is going to be all over in the space of 3 games in 7 days, nice!!!!

Though that would hand Man **** the title so maybe we should let the Hibs of London, LMAO :P , win the league game.

Fool, fool, fool... In case you hadn't noticed, Liverpool in and out of the Champions League are two different teams - and whenever English sides face each other in the knockout stages, the underdog always wins. Liverpool-Chelsea Part III is a stick-on for the semis - and I'd expect the winner of that tie to go on and lift the trophy.

Will Liverpool be employing the same hoofball tactics they did in the league game at Anfield?

Roma will get emptied Man U with any luck, cannot stand Roma, Liverpool follow at the hands of Arsenal hopefully although as has been said Liverpool in Europe are a much different team to the EPL.

Still as long as Roma get gubbed i'm not caring, fingers crossed for another 7-1

Arsenal V Man U for the Final would be a cracker.

That has got to be one of the worst sweeping generalisations posted in a long time.

Liverpool fans received this reputation way back in the '70s when they were regularly playing away in Europe. Liverpool FC were so successful that they were always travelling to new and exotic destinations and during that era when money wasn't quite as plentiful as it perhaps is now, the scousers used every means availible to them to enjoy their shopping 'excursions' to the designer boutiques in Italy etc.

Liverpool supporters were amongst the first in Britain to be sporting designer Italian wear on the terraces. Sergio Tachinni, Armani etc.

Of course, to label ALL Scousers as geezers and thieves is a false.

Also the perceived connection with Celtic just doesn't exist. Celtic 'adopted' Liverpool's anthem for reasons best known to them and have always had more of a link with Manchester United than they do with the Reds.

Do a bit of reasearch before farting out of your gob in future. ;)

Peter Hooton , The Farm : They looked cool " The". diegos"..... his spelling not mine, so we robbed them or rammed the shops ..so thats something to be proud of ? So they are fashionable **** ?

Liverpool got that reputation in the 80s not the 70s when the socially deprived morons went on the rampage on mass in Europe. Heysell was in the 80s not the 70s when they became the most hated team in Europe!!!!

Last year in Athens they were still at it , robbing tickets from there own supporters " did you see the crying kid on the BBC NEWS" Charging Gates,Mass Counterfeit of Tickets .....if the Beggars get to a Final its always delayed ****

Farting out my gob..witty riposte

Liverpool, Roma , Hearts ......why not add Bayern , AEK, Lisbon, you must be 11 we all had 3 favorite teams at primary.

Really ?

So when Sellick played at OT in the CL recently why did the officer commanding at the stadium say it was like going back to the 1980s - something the Sellick PR machine conveniently overlooked. There was widespread violence at that game. Having spoken to a few mates who are MUFC ST holders, there was a lot of aggro due to Sellick fans singng their folk songs.

The total myth of a Sellick love in with (insert club of choice) is just that.

I heard quite a few Sellick fans got a shoeing onthe basis that the IRA had bombed Manchester : something they'd forgotten about in their 'folk songs'.

Unreal eh! You really need to question the stupidity of smeltic fans, they deserved a hiding for singing those songs in the heart of an area affected by their dearly beloved IRA.

Is it any wonder the English league dont want the bigot brothers anywhere near them, why spoil one of the best leagues in the world by putting cancer into it?

Fact of the matter is that when any team visit Old Trafford there is usually bother of some sort. Go have a look at YouTube. Millions of violence videos from outside that *****hole.

Plus the fact that Glaswegians are viewed as 'prime' targets by English hoolies is another factor.

Feck 'em both anyway. Weegie Manc tramps.

Judging by your lack of grammar and lack of observation (my username) i'd say you are either a pubescent teenager or a young man with limited intellect but fancy yourself as having a bit of street 'savvy'.

Either way, i don't require any history lesson from a no-mark like you on the topic of Liverpool FC.

Who said at any point it was something to be proud of when referring to the exploits of a minority of Liverpool fans on the thief? Only you by the looks of it?!?

The fact that you reckon Liverpool only had a 'Euro' reputation from the '80s and not the '70s says lots for your lack of knowledge on the subject.

I'm fully aware that Heysel (your spelling was again inaccurate) '80s. I remember watching the match vividly.

Explain what 'socially deprived' means? I don't think you know. You just chucked that in there to bolster a flimsy argument that you know you cannot win.

Most hated team in Europe? No they weren't. It takes two to tango and Juventus supporters were every bit to blame as the Liverpool supporters. Incase you don't remember (or didn't actually see the match) there was a Juventus supporter standing on the terrace firing a starter pisol loaded with flares into the Liverpool section.

Let us not look at all the facts though when we are trying to tell a good 'ole one sided story though, eh?!

Yes, there was a problem at last years CL final with counterfeit tickets. That has nothing to do with Liverpool fans though? Does it?

Imagine if you arrived at the stadium to be told you weren't getting after spending loads of cash and time and effort getting there?

As for me supporting Hearts, Liverpool & Rome, that is my prerogative. I've supported both Hearts & Liverpool for the past 28 years and i visit Rome on a regular basis so in turn i support them.

You have only posted 10 or so posts and yet i think you are a complete tube.

Congratulaions. ;)

Indeed - those days have gone forever. Ending the 50-50 sharing of gate receipts (which hitherto served as socialism in football) was the first step towards this, Murdoch's money was the second... and Bosman killed the chances of any smaller club challenging (including, in European terms, a great club such as Ajax) stone dead. It's amazing to think that between 1991 and 1993, Crystal Palace, Sheffield Wednesday and Norwich all finished 3rd - but it's a completely different world nowadays.

Which leads me to two trivia questions (no cheating, folks!):

1. Who finished as the highest placed London club in the inaugural Premier League season of 1992/3?

2. Which British club went furthest in Europe during the final season before Bosman took full effect, 1995/6?

1. QPR - at a guess 5th?

2. Nottingham Forest - quarter finals of UEFA Cup before being horsed by Bayern.

Hopefully with less trouble than the last time this happened. Strange how at the time, what happened afterwards received widespread coverage in Italy - condemning the Roma fans - but in terms of the UK media, only the Liverpool Echo reported the events. Have always found that to be very strange.

There is always going to be tension between Italian and English supporters.

Far too much water has meandered under this particular bridge for that to change any time soon.

The Italians view the English as an arrogant and gluttonous race whilst the English view them as turncoat traitors and cowards stemming from the second world war.

For footballing terms purely, Liverpool V Rome would be terrific.
