Dalmeny house.

Correct ...... an extremely oxidised statue  in the grounds. I think it represents one of his Lordship's favourite (or most successful) gee-gees. 👍

Correct.  When Arizona state were trying  to attract people to move to their new planned city in the desert,  they decided to buy a world landmark and site it there. The story goes that they eventually decided that Tower Bridge in London was iconic enough, but mistakenly kept calling it London Bridge during negotiations - and thats what they got  !!!

I heard that story and it must have been a shock to them when they took it out the box

Maybe Trump was part of the negotiations!

Looks like Hermitage Castle ?

Correct ..... it's in a remote location south of the main Borders towns, and looks to have been  built in the English style rather than the Scottish style.

Cheers.

It's one of the bleakest I've visited. Sir Walter Scott's favourite.

Bleak is an appropriate description.  The sun shone the day I visited, but in a gale with rain lashing it would be a dreadful place to get stuck. 😧

Original was in the Norman style. It has changed hands a few times, but that area was never particularly loyal to either crown (Edinburgh or London).

Wish I had seen this when first posted, spent the first 21 years of my life in No 10, climbed through that toilet window a good few times.

I could probably still get through it but might need a leg up 😀

My dad used to forget to put the key on the piece of string in the letterbox.

I hope nobody was using the facility when you made your entrance. Then, I suppose that would maybe help hasten the process.
