GMFB back on July 29th.

Launching from California, down to 2 hours from 3. There is an additional 2 hour program GMFB Overtime, on weekdays too.

Jamie, Schrags & Kyle all back. Kyle and Peter splitting hosting duties between NY and LA.

In addition, Akbar Gbajabiamila and Sheree Burruss will be on.

No mention of Jason McCourty though sadly.

Training camps start this week … feels like we’re finally getting closer to it all starting again! Just the 6 more weekends until I can sit infront of my tv for hours on end watching redzone 😂

Been filling my time by watching receiver on Netflix. Anyone else seen it and what was your thoughts? I came away from it not really liking any of them more whereas when I watched QB I came away really liking them more than I did before. Really don’t like St.Browns Dad either, bit of an oddball to me.

And has anyone found a way to watch hard knocks with the giants yet? I cannot find it for the life of me 🙁

I’ve started watching Receiver, really enjoying it so far. Only on the third episode. So far I’ve thought Davante and Kittle have come across well. Love Kittles enthusiasm for the game, he really does love playing football.

Justin Jefferson🤣

Pretty much my take on it as well, Kittle the star of the show for me, Davante comes across well as does St Brown, watching the parts about the niners with Kittle and Deebo I can see why Ayuik is angling for a trade, he's a no1 target almost anywhere else but way too much competition there for him.

Jefferson is an incredible talent but in just no way likeable

Watching GMFB for the first time since the rebrand. Hmmmmm.

I really don’t like Akbar on it. No idea why, just taken a dislike to him since it came back on. I also don’t understand why they made Jamie uproot to the opposite side of the country with a newborn when Kyle and Peter are joining the show with a zoom call most days. If that was ok for them then why couldn’t they have kept Jason who was really good on it.

Anyway, preseason is here which means we are edging so much closer to the season finally starting again. 3 weeks on Sunday, I cannot wait 😀

Wonder if we'll actually see a resolution to the Brandon Aiyuk saga in the next few days?

Will he take the contract offer from the 49'rs or will he accept the trade and long term contract with the steelers?

Of course JJ MC, ****s his knee up after 1 preseason game. He wasn't gonna be the starter but sitting out injured is obviously going to slow down his progression. Gutted for him, but I guess this was always a bridge year.

What's everyones predictions for the coming season then?

Not just eventual SB winners, but what teams do you think will be a surprise package?

I haven't really kept up with trades/pre-season games so don't really know what to expect from anyone.

Jets and Bears could be the surprise packages in both Conferences.

Although I’m sure the Jets will Jet as usual.

Unfortunately for me as a Panthers fan, the Falcons will do well this season, possibly easy NFC division winners. Conversely think this will be Coach Tomlin's first losing season at Steelers.

If Panthers can get 4/5 wins, I guess that's progress. Not sold on Young at QB.

In the AFC East, it's a 3 way race between the Bills, Dolphins and Jets. The Jets will probably Jet at some time :smuggy:, so likely between the Bills and Dolphins.

As a Dolphins fan, I hope they can get over their late season struggles. Less injuries would help, but only winning when it matters will prove it. They've got a tough run in as well, it's like the NFL are asking them to prove it too!

Fans of teams other than the Steelers have been saying the same thing every August for the last decade

Personally, if we're going to have another middling season I'd almost as soon go 1-16, change the whole coaching set-up and get ourselves a first overall draft pick.

Failing that, I'd rather we won the most unlikely of Super Bowls. 😜

That's the thing, it'll likely be another middling (ableit not a losing) season but if and it's a big IF, either Wilson or Fields hit their stride it could be a very good season.

I'm never going to read anything into pre-season games since even in our best seasons we generally tank pre-season but I do think we've tried to be too clever/cheap with the Aiyuk trade when a WR of his calibre could transform our offence, honestly think that if we'd just stumped up a $30m a season offer then he'd already be in the black and gold.

It did sound as if he wasn't against the idea, though as elite as he is he'd be of little benefit if our O-Line still stinks and as a consequence our QB's do likewise. (we don't know if they might do that anyway) 😣

Only 2 weeks today until the majority of teams kick off their 2024/5 season, and only 11 days until Ravens play the Chiefs in the Thursday night kick off. Teams have until this Tuesday night to make their cuts to get to the 53 player regular season squads, and have started making cuts already.

As always, it feels like it's been a long offseason. June/July/August is always such a drag.

Yep, at least the NFL will take some of my attention away from the current misery...until my Dolphins start losing anyway

Was good to see come college football back live, even if Sky aren't showing as many games as BT/TNT used to show. It's a pity Sky aren't showing the 3 hour pre-game College Gameday show, used to quite enjoy watching some of that before BT/TNT would show games back-to-back.

I don't "support" any particular college team as much as I do the Dolphins in the NFL, but I do kind of follow/support the Miami Hurricanes and Oregon Ducks teams. It was nice to see a Canes team finally play a little like they used to when they won multiple National Championships and whoop the Florida Gators.

The regular season is finally here, with Ravens-Chiefs tonight, then Packers-Eagles tomorrow night in Brazil.

It's good to be back, that's my Sunday night's (and other nights) entertainment sorted out for the next 20 plus weeks

Who do you think are going to win the Super Bowl this season? I think it's pretty open, clearly the Chiefs are the favourites, but I just can't see them doing the three-peat, which has never been done in the Super Bowl era.

A lot of people seem to be tipping the Ravens, but they've disappointed in the playoffs a few times, and hard to back them for that reason.

Clearly, I'd love a Dolphins win, but I'd settle for just winning a playoff game this year...we've not won one since 2000. Winning the division over the Bills and Jets would be a great first step though, last year was especially disappointing after slipping up late in the season to hand it to the Bills after having a 3 game lead at one stage. The Jets seem to be a lot of the media's pick, but relying on a 40 year old QB who's coming off an Achilles injury and hasn't really played for 2 seasons is a risky proposition.

Posted

You'll notice I didn't make a prediction for who will win it this year. That's because I don't have a clue tbh!

If push comes to shove, I'll go for the Ravens over the 49ers, but without any real conviction in either.

I had Chiefs beating the Lions

As for those saying Ravens, I really can't see anyone from AFC North going deep in the playoffs, it's such a tough division and with a lot of the divisional games being on the tail end of the season which will take so much out of all the teams

Yep, a tough division doesn't lend itself to winning the lot. Recent history shows majority of Super Bowl participants are from weak divisions.

That's why I don't see us making it this year.

What a game to kick off the season, brilliant viewing. Lamar in the vital moments missed a wide open Likely in the end zone, then followed that up with missing a wide open Flowers in the end zone too. He was unlucky that Likely didn’t get his final throw for a touchdown, but it was still a case of Lamar coming up short when the chips are down for me.

Quite like that Giants outfit but think it's only being used a couple of times.

Get yourself Gamepass on DAZN, essential for watching whatever game you want, plus the DAZN app is on Sky now so no need to hook up or watch from your laptop

Och, I pay for enough already 😁  plus, it doesn't seem like I'm missing much so far 😡

Tbh I quite like the Redzone thing. The SKY coverage is quite good imo. 🙂
