cosanostra
I hate business / management speak. I remember some moronic bint bank training burd come out with "don't ever assume, it makes an ass out of U and ME". I asked her if that meant that the custom of learning from ones own experience to predict the most efficient way of doing things was in fact flawed and we should never anticipate anything at any time in case we're wrong. She said "no but we still shouldn't assume things". Some people are just too stupid to bother speaking to.
davemclaren
I think we should be looking for synergies going forward and not be afraid to adopt a blue sky strategy in doing so. Additionally we should be reviewing the metrics regularly to ensure that we are getting full value-add.

She said "no but we still shouldn't assume things". Some people are just too stupid to bother speaking to. So what I don't get is why do so many people in business and management use it all the time? Why does bull****ting actually work? "Downsizing" = sacking a bunch of people and ruining their Christmas "Efficiency savings" or "modernisation" = the same "Flexible markets" = let's make it ridiculously easy to sack people and replace them with machines In 2003, New Zealand launched a new All Blacks rugby jersey. According to the marketing blurb, it came in three layers. An 'active layer' which offered "body empowerment" (wouldn't Viagra do the same thing though?), a 'uniform layer' which offered "compression of skin receptors, optimising muscular control", and an under-jersey which "worked in harmony with the other layers". That's a relief: can't have all those layers arguing with each other, can we? Their Adidas socks "compressed the calf muscles to reduce vibration and oscillation" (providing a clear advantage over opponents who were obviously oscillating away wildly); and their shorts were a "polyester twill fabrication giving moisture management technology". Presumably this dealt with the problem of all their players wetting themselves while listening to this guff.

Cheile
I am pleased to see that these issues are being addressed and taken forward at this point in time. That is pretty tame compared to some examples but I certainly agree that anyone who talks this kind of trash should die a slow and painful death.
