"Proper" maroon

I know there are many JKBers concerned that Hearts play in 'proper' maroon.

Does anyone care enough that they know the RGB combination when trying to get proper maroon in a Microsoft document or powerpoint?

People interested in proper colours are probably more likely to work in cmyk values. Maybe get yourself a pantone book - it should have the values you're looking for.

That sounds like too much hard work; especially since it's only to further a very petty argument with a Burnley supporting friend...

You're right.

No argument can be too petty when it comes to the maroon :)

Exactly.

This is pantone 202 maroon:

Not sure whether you got my PM on this

Not sure you are going to succeed with your argument.

Burnley's claret was allegedly based on Aston Villa's. Burnely changed colours in 1910 and had previously played in .... wait for it .... green !

Villa's colours are allegedly based on those of Rangers and .... Hearts.

So, in theory at least Burnley's maroon should be the same as ours.

It isnt of course but there you go.

Why not just goad your friend with the hideous fact that his team used to play in green.

Only if they are planning on printing the colour.

If its for use on screen then RGB values are the way to go.

He refers to Hibs and Hearts in a Jekyll/Hyde relationship, with us being Mr Hyde.

He takes the **** out of us for the 07 game.

He talks condescendingly about us refering to them as "the wee team".

He says "Swinecastle".

He uses a whole paragraph of pish to suggest that Hibs have more flair than us.

He repeats ad nauseum "I hate Hearts" in a Kubrick tribute.

All in that one excerpt.

Much like Brushy Bill Roberts/William H. Bonney/Billy The Kid/Emilio Estevez in Young Guns II.... "You asked me if I have scars? Yessir, I have my scars."

I Hate Aiden Smith.

I know, but apart from that? :stuart:

It's just one guy's opinions, although they're obviously erroneous :smiley2:. Guess I was wrong in posting it - I just found it when searching for the correct Pantone number and didn't even read the rest of the article (glad I didn't, to be honest).
