Frail wants call offs for wind

I want summer football (for youths at least).

 

It's the ONLY way this country is going to produce better players.

 

PS I agree about wind but how do you decide at noon that it's too windy for a 3pm k.o.?

its not as if this hasnt happened before, arbroath had a game called off for wind earlier on this year, i think the were still hurting from the new year humping from montrose though so maybe it was a convienient cancellation. may be we should supply refs with anemometers and postpone games with winds over certain speeds.

I would agree with that, anytime I've ever watched the under 19's on a windy day it has been an awfull game.

Football has always been played in high winds. How you adapt to the conditions that count.

 

Steve Frail wants to try playing a game on a pitch in San Carlos Bay where yesterday's wind would have been called a light breeze. On a pitch that made the old slope at Easter Road seem as smooth as the Balgreen bowling greens.
