SOUND on Computer

i'm posting in the wrong section but i need a quick reply as i play online gaming and need help

ok i've tryed to install the sound codecs and i have succeeded i still can't seem to get the sound coming out.

via audio pc 97

i've been on microsoft too install them and when i try it asks for windows xp disc

 

the driver version it says is.

 

5.10.0.6280

 

it's

 

Realtek AC'97

 

ok been on the realtek website.

and found a setup

 

i'm in the middle of the installation and it's coming up with this message.

 

The file " ksuser.dll" on Windows Xp Home Edtion Service Pack 2 CD is needed

 

below it also says.

 

Copy files from

 

c:/windows/temp/i386 i don't have this file on the computer

i don't want too have to redownload this file as it took ages because other people are connected to my network.

 

is there any other way around this.

would it help if I installed the motherboard drivers ?

 

You should always install the MB drivers first, followed by the sound driver. Get the best sound driver to use from the motherboard manufacturers site (they WILL have a tested driver available.)
